    Lightbulb Is it normal??

I've gone through all the necessary things to get the surgery and now I'm at the point where I'm asking myself, am I 1000% sure?! I guess I'm just going back and forth in my mind thinking, "well why why don't you give it another shot the "old fashioned way" I've given this surgery 2 years of thought and I guess now that I'm getting so close to the finish line my subconscious mind is trying to get the best of me. Would you say it's "normal" to have these thoughts?

I'm anxious to hear what the experienced and already-sleeved members have to say because I just told someone about an hour ago that I'm so excited and that I know this is the right choice for me, but just the last few days, my nerves have really been in high gear. Personally, I think it's normal because if you didn't have some concerns, it would seem like you weren't taking it seriously. After 2 years, you've done the things that you were going to try and really given it your all, but this isn't something new and so many people are here to tell us how much it's helped them, their health and long-term life. Stay positive girl! Just think how happy you'll be when you're healthy and happy and look back on this ... Good luck to you!

I was excited and nervous once I received my surgery date. I even got so anxiety a few days before surgery. However, once I was at the hospital I said a little prayer and was ready. That was five weeks ago! No regret...

I think every step of the way we say, is this the right thing I'm doing? I'm now at the liquid diet and say it alot, but when I get up in the morning and my feet hurt so bad just to walk, I say this is why I'm doing this. And it reminds me.

Yes it is normal. Go over all your pros and cons about having the surgery. For most people this reconfirms that yes, surgery is right for them. Then get yourself busy. Clean out your closet. Get work squared away. Get ahead on all your housework. This will keep you occupied so you don't have time to worry and fret about the surgery. Also you can rest guilt free when you get home after surgery. Wishing you all the best!

This is most definitely normal. Just remember back to all of your diets, struggles, tears, etc. That will help you remember why you made this decision. It was the best decision of my life and yes I did think the same thing. Glad I went through with it! Best of luck!!

Oh yeah, you're normal. I went through the same process and actually backed out on my 1st attempt at starting the process of getting approved.

It's normal. My only regret was not doing it sooner!
    1st Goal - get to 170 by Sept 8th - I got close at 178.

NOPE! First real stall that lasted a week. Ended 9/24 at 173. It's all good. Wait....nope. Still going.

Passed 170 and straight to 169 on 10/9/13

    2nd Goal - get to 150 by December 1st - got to 156...close, I'm not complaining.

So close...Now I have to wait for baby in January!

i didn't second guess it till the day of surgery, i was literally being wheeled down the hospital corridor and started to freak out. As soon as i was rolled into the OR, i nearly had a panic attack. Only thing that calmed me was the Alice in Chains blasting on the radio \m/ \m/ Then doc was like keep still and next thing you know im in hte recovery room.

Dont let things get to you, you obviously have gone thru all these steps for a reason.
