CAN SOMEONE TELL ME ABOUT THE HOPITALS IN MEXICO WHICH ONE AND WHICH DOCTOR I HEARD THAT SOMES OF THE HOSPITALS ARE NOT CLEAN
I have not been sleeved yet [Oct 11th], but I have talked to many people on this forum that says the Jerusalem Hospital in Mexico is extra clean. My Dr will be Dr Mario Almanza. The hospital is really the size of a clinic in a strip mall, but is run just like the best Hospitals. Good Luck, Shirley
If I wasn't going through insurance I would go to Dr. Alvarez for sure. I've heard great things about Dr. Almanza as well.
I've also heard great things about A Lighter Me. There's a closed group on Facebook I think of folks who had their surgeries in Mexico and you might want to check on ObesityHelp.com
My sister my mother my father and my self have all used Dr. Almanza at Jerusalem hospital, we have all had a great experience and are all healed and loosing just fine. I found the hospital to be clean and up to most peoples standards and the hotel they have you stay in is wonderful. The shuttles were not what was described to us before hand, we were told it would be a limo and instead was old vans but thats not a big deal for me. I have also heard wonderful things about Dr.Alverez though I do not know first hand. Good luck to you and congratulations on your journey
Had my surgery on 09/19 in Hospital Nova - older hospital but super clean. We had 4 patients on our floor with 3 nurses - like having a private duty nurse. The buzzer was answered in 30 seconds or less. I used Dr. Ramos-Kelly. Wonderful doctor and surgeon. Had very easy surgery and a non-eventful recovery.
I went to Jerusalem and it was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful. Dr. Almanza very good but the only problem my group had was when we had our stitches removed when they said they opened up. I would go an extra week before removing them. Overall it was a great experience just a little extra recovery time, but very pleased with the results.
My sister had her sleeve at Mi Hospital with Dr. Ortiz. I was there with her. The hospital was very clean, the staff was pleasant and I really liked Dr. Ortiz's bedside manner. Her sleeve was at the beginning of May and she is doing wonderful. I am going there on November 11.
I am going to have surgery at this same hospital. I don't speak more than a few words of Spanish, and don't have a smart phone to load a spanish translator program into. Any feedback on this hospital? I'm wondering how badly I need to try to learn a few more phrases in Spanish.
Of the surgeons mentioned, I have yet to hear of any facility they use be anything but spotless.
Yes, we have one very vocal and repetitive member that insists on commenting about a doctor she has never seen, but take that with a grain of salt. I have no idea why she feels it necessary to disparage a doctor or a facility she has never been to just to "sell" her doctor. But, whatever.
All of the doctors that have been mentioned are excellent and you would not go wrong in choosing any of them.
Luann, neither my sister or I speak a word of Spanish at all. Most of the nurses can speak a little English and it is usually enough to get the point across. Eduardo, Abraham, Dr. Ortiz, and any of the other people involved with the surgery itself all speak English very well.
You have a personal issue with Dr. Almanza because of a friend of yours. I get that. I just think it is disingenuous to continuously "sell" your surgeon at the expense of another surgeon when all you have is second-hand information. You were never a patient of Dr. Almanza, nor have you ever been to his surgical centre. You have no direct knowledge.
I don't understand your motive. When threads come up asking for information regarding Dr. Almanza, you immediately pounce about how Dr. Alverez only does 2-3 surgeries per day because of "SAFETY" every-single-time. Good for you and him. Dr. Almanza is safe, too. I get that you don't think he is but your opinion means nothing WRT Dr. Almanza because you were never a patient of his.
Are there patients of Dr. Almanza that were not satisfied with their experience? Of course. Are their patients of every single doctor mentioned in this thread that were not satisfied. Again, yes.
You seem to be on a mission to point out in nearly every Mexico thread how Alverez is better than Almanza. I think it would be easier on you and all of us if you just include that information in your signature, as it seems to be a mantra with you.
Praise your surgeon, by all means, however, your specific targeting of Dr. Almanza is getting old.
