    Default hi everyone

I am 2 wks post op, have had nothing but pain and I can actually feel food going into my new stomach, which can be extremely uncomfortable. So tired of soups and broths. Have tried soft veg but like I said its extremely uncomfortable. Heartburn is awful, thank goodness no gas or vomiting. Can anyone give mw suggestions on what else I can try.

In my case I didn't have pain but I did get an Rx from my surgeon for prilosec (Rx strength) for twice a day for the first couple of months. He said it would aid in healing plus less problems with heartburn. Something to check into with your surgeon, I wouldn't wait for it to get worse.

I would not eat any veggies yet, not even soft cooked. At 2 weeks I was still on full liquids. Both, Soups(blended or cream) Yogurt, protein shakes, jello, jello pudding. Your stomach may need some more healing time.

Yeah i agree with CoComom, i am 6 weeks out and still only just started on baby type foods, for example i get that feeling still you describe after anything that takes chewing.

I am having like risottos etc now which is good, but i still feel more comfortable with soups yoghurts etc etc....reflux is bad so you really really do have to take your time. Hang in there it does get better.
