Hi all! I am in the process of getting an appointment with the surgeon but wanted to see if anyone had their gallbladder removed prior to being sleeved? If so, has this affected your diet post-op or even pre-op?
I look forward to hearing from you!
I had my gallbladder out years before my surgery. Having no gallbladder won't cause any issues and in some ways, consider yourself lucky because many people who lose weight quickly end up with gallbladder issues and need to have it out then. Not everyone, but a small subset. For those who do still have their gallbladder and get sleeved, ask your doctor if actigall might be an appropriate treatment for you to try to ward off gallbladder issues.

Had my gallbladder out about 12 years ago and sleeved about 2 1/2 weeks ago. No issues with my diet either pre or post op. Good luck and be well.
Hide my gallbladder out in 2009, no issues whatsoever after being sleeved.
I had my gallbladder removed in 2010 and the Sleeve in 2013. I actually think that having the sleeve made things easier for my non gallbladder body. The gall bladder helps the body process fatty foods and with the sleeve you eat so little that I dont have as many episodes from fatty foods. Godspeed on your journey
