Default Just finished the 5 day pouch test

I just finished the 5 day pouch test. I lost 5 pounds but man was it hard. I had become accustomed to my glass of wine a night and to grazing. Loved that bowl of potato chips I nibbled on throughout the day.I finally felt my sleeve tighten as they say ( I call it a full feeling)on the 5th day. Horrible headaches from not eating carbs, today is the first day I woke up without a headache. I had 5 small macaroni shells with supper last night and that took care of the carb monster. Hoping it will stick and reprogram me to the way I should be eating again. I had completely fell off the wagon. I was drinking all through my meals. I did not remember how hard it was to wait a half hour before and after meals before drinking. I just reinforced my thought process to reboot. I had stopped losing at 178 pounds because of everything I was doing and had stayed like that since February. Time for a new beginning. Wish me luck, I need to get down to 160 pounds.

Great job. I wanna reach my 150 mark by my one year so I was thinking about doing the pouch test. I am a really healthy eater but maybe it will kick start some extra pounds.

Ooooh, I was just talking to two fellow sleeves on here about the pouch test. I'm going to try it. I'm anxious to shrink my pouch again...I got tooooooo sloppy with my food. I got some chicken and some beef broth and I have orange juice ( not from concentrate) that I dilute with water. I need to really study the test to make ure I know what I'm doing first....what was the hardest part...just the headaches or the not chewing part...I'm concerned about both!

Not chewing wasn't bad. That is only for 2 days. They have a fabulous recipe for carrot soup for the first 2 days. It has lots of cheese protein in it and one pot lasted me 3 days. After two days you get light protein. Hardest part was the headaches and me wanting carbs. I also missed my glass of wine.

I did this a few weeks ago. helped a lot. I'm now under my goal wt. Now very picky on what carbs I will eat. The wine I HAD to totally give it up because it was becoming all of my calories daily. In other words I was becoming an alcoholic. Was not going down that road. The pouch test does work. Linda

I just looked it up this morning myself, like you, carbs (and wine) have crept back in my diet and I want/need to get back on track. Glad to hear you had success. I printed it out. Did you do it over a weekend or during the week?

I started on Sunday and finished on Thursday. Still doing good and watching carbs. Sure wish I knew how many a day were okay. Does anyone know how many carbs we should have a day?

Good to read this for me. I too have slipped and have been thinking about doing the test. I was hovering around 158 lbs and stayed there for a few months easily but my goal weight is 154, to get to be considered "healthy" weight. Anyhow...it's just a number I know, but I would like to see it at least once.
I know our bodies tend to settle where they want to be that is healthy for us. Anyhow, with the carbs which I like those packets of cheese and peanut butter crackers, and my starbucks lattes in the bottle, the calories are kind of not worth it. I'm about 161-162 these days. I want to get back into the 150's and not see the needle move up.
All I have to do is make up my mind and then do it. Thanks for the inspiration. Wishing you all the very best. The sleeve is great though...it makes us so aware of our eating and we can't eat the quantities we used to.
