Mixie how did your surgery go?
Thank you for your kind words! I was surprised when I heard that Dr. Woodman no longer did gastric bypass so I called his office & they confirmed it. I think it's weird too! The failure rate is so high with the lap band that I thought it was out the door. I'm going to one of his seminars next week so hopefully I will learn his take on this then. Are you glad you got the sleeve?
I am so glad I got the sleeve. The first month to six weeks I was unhappy. But once I go over my complication. I am elated. I can exercise and I like it. Never thought I would say those words. I have so much energy. I sleep less and feel more rested. I am doing amazing. Best decision I have ever in my life made. How are things going for you?
I am doing pretty good. I have been back & fourth about the surgery. Had trouble making a definite decision until this weekend. My husband & I went to lunch with another couple (his friends) & I couldn't fit into the booth. I was so embarrassed! Right then & there I said a few ugly words but I made my decision! All my doctors have been pushing me to have the surgery because of numerous health issues but this was the first time I thought wait....I Can do Something about this... so I am. I went to Walmart today to get started. I bought several different water flavorings and a few protein shakes to try. I also got some davinci syrups from a friend. I had been drinking almost a 2 liter of diet coke a day. I quit that weekend before last. I've done all my clearances. All I have left is the nutrition visit. I see the surgeon next Monday. Hopefully I'll be ready to Schedule the surgery then. These boards are so inspiring & helpful! I don't know if I'd be ready without them.
I'm sorry you have been so sick. I know that sucks & hopefully you'll feel better soon. My info should be sent for insurance approval this week. As soon as that comes back, I will have an EGD & ultrasound then another visit with the surgeon. Then I should be able to schedule the surgery. I am hoping for late May or early June. It sure is a slow process.
