Make a list of pros and cons that fit your life. Go from there. If you listen to your nut and surgeon and follow their instructions you will do fine. Taking each day at a time and really following through will help you keep the weight off both mentally and physically. My nut has been with me through my entire process and has been so supportive. God Bless...Mem

Hey! I had my sleeve on July 31st, and I am sooooo glad I did. I started at 244 lbs and am now 213.6 lbs. I'm 5'4. It hasn't been easy but it sure has been easier than everything else i've tried! ive done all kinds of diet pills, ww, south beach, you name it. The preop liquid diet is hard but it goes really quick and the diet afterwards was tough for the first two weeks but again it goes by quick and I dont regret it for a second! The preop and postop diets are a short sacrifice for a long term success! the surgery was not bad at all, I have a two year old at home and I had my surgery on a Wednesday and went back to work on Monday. Good Luck!

Hi LovingPres. I am scheduled to have surgery in about a month and am encouraged by your weight loss and recovery period. Did you have to ease back to work or did you jump right back in? I have taken three weeks off and am wondering if that will be too long.

Hey girliegirl777! After the surgery I was sore, it hurt to cough, get up, lay down, laugh all that stuff but I came home on Thursday and even went into the office for a couple hrs on Friday because they needed me for a few things. I only took three pain pills after coming home! After Sunday the soreness was so much better. I am a secretary though. If you have a high demanding fast paced job you may need more time off although I've had several friends have the surgery that are nurses am went back on Monday as well

Thank you LovingPres for the additional details. I'm so encouraged to know that the recovery could potentially go that smoothly. I know circumstances may differ, but I love my job and don't want to have to be away for three weeks. I also have an office job that can be fast paced and stressful, but generally sedentary. I'm hoping to recover as you did.
