    Default Bilirubin

    Went to my gyno for chceck up last week and blood work came back and i have elevated bilirubin? Has anyone else had this after surgery?

    There are many reasons you can have elevated bilirubin and pretty much all of them should be ruled out by your GP as soon as possible. Are you taking any meds right now? There are meds that can cause hyperbilirubinemia such as antibiotics, birth control pills, phenytoin, indomethacin, flurazepam, diazepam, etc.

    No medication...but thyroid, multivitamin & vitamin d...dont have a gallbladder

    Did you have the cholecystectomy due to gall stones? Gall stones in the bile duct could cause elevations in bilirubin.

    I'd definitely say make an appt. with your PCP right away. If you start to have nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, and jaundice then get to the ER.
