Hair Loss - if so, when

Quick question, if hair loss is likely, how long after the op is it likely to happen?

I was told between 3 and 4 months...I have yet to experience any, but I am just now 10 weeks...

Hey Jen, mines started about 2 weeks ago, so I chopped it all into a bob Sad day but I figure a good cut with help it get healthier for when its ready to grow back!

It starts 3 to 4 months after surgery and can go on for a few months (like 3 or 4). The good news is it does grow back and sometimes thicker. I keep looking at my balding spots looking for little hairs but I'm only a month in to my hair loss phase so maybe it is too soon.

I had hair loss starting about 3 months out - it stopped about 5 months out - I can also see a lot of new short hairs growing in- whew! My hair was fairly thick to begin with - but that was no consolation when my hair was falling out in clumps I did not take anything special for it vitamin wise - I think it just has to run its course.

I thought I was going to miss the hair loss but mine started at about 4 months out. I hadn't been as good with vitamins and protein so have been focusing on that more. There's no actual scientific evidence that biotin helps, just anecdotal so not sure that's worth it. I'm now at 6 months and have noticed it's not as bad as it was but it's still more than pre-op.

I had hair loss the first 6 months, I am a year out now and it has stopped. I had very fine hair to begin with so it got thinner, no one could really notice it but me and my hairdresser lol....

I started at about 3.1/2 months and it's slowed down dramatically now at 7 months. Still alot of hair had fallen out but I see lots of regrowth and an confident I will see it all come back.

I agree, I lost tons of hair about the same time, and now at about 8 months out, its slowly filling in, feeling fuzzy regrowth near the forhead areas, I was terrified it was gone for good!!!

Hi sweetie. I went for over a year before I lost hair. It has finally stopped but I was getting quite worried. I had heard that it started early but for me it was later. Have a great week. xxxcoralxxx

Almost 3 months to the day of my surgery! Luckily I had enough hair for 4 people....no I have enough for 2. It is slowing now.
