Cardiac and Pulmonary Clearance question?

I really need help with this pulmonary and cardiac clearance for my insurance (Buckeye). I want to know what should I do ? Who do I go to too get those clearances ? what did you guys do. These are the only things I need to get done so that my paper work can be sent off to the insurance company. I am a student so the only time I can get the surgery and have time to rest is December 16, 2013 through January 10,2014 but I want to have everything done and submitted to my insurance company by September 13,2013 so that I can have a decision by the end of September,2013.

Your regular Doctor should be able to order them or do them.

My surgeon's office did all the recommendations for me. I told them I needed referrals that were in-network for my insurance and they hooked me up with everyone I needed clearance from. I had a primary care physician that wrote a letter for me, but other than that I was referred by surgeon. They should be helping you with all that. If not, then you need to call your insurance company or go online and find who is in your network and start making calls. My insurance website has a find a physician section where I can enter specifically what I'm looking for in my area. I've called my insurance several times for assistance and they are always great about point me in the right direction for whatever I need. You should call them. Hope that helps ...

If You Have A Primary Care doctor He Or She Can Do The Clearance. If You Don't Then You Can Ask The Surgeon For A recommendation. You Need An EKG And Chest Xray. If Those Are Clear, You Shouldn't need Further Workup.
You Could Also Contact Your Insurance OR Get On The Website And Find An Internal Medicine.Doctor.

My primary care did an EKG, which was good and he forwarded those results. However, my insurance company required a letter stating I was "cardiac cleared" and my primary would not go out on a limb and do that so I had to go to a cardiologist for the "recommendation". Red tape abounds. I also was required to have a sleep study and an EGD. ... just depends what your insurance company wants to approve you and what your surgeon requires before he takes you into surgery ... they're all different ... But, just keep going, you'll get there!
