    Default I am sliding

Hi all, its been just over 7 months, and I noticed I was sliding into my old habits, my taste buds are back and I love sweets and carbs again.....I am hovering around the 158 mark for the last month, with 30 pounds left to go to reach my goal......
I gave myself a kick in the ass yesterday and began the pouch diet. I SURE HOPE THIS GETS ME OVER THIS STALL!!!!

I too have all my carb & sweet cravings back. I'm 10 months out and I too starting monday are going back to basics. Liquid for couple of day, then graduate to soft... need to kick this back into gear!! Good luck with your progress!

I'm am a few days from being 8 months out and I have found that I many "slider" days...weeks (ugh). But the only thing that works is going back to protein drinks 2-3 times a day and a protein, light portion of veggies, dinner. I force myself to remember what I felt like before the 70lb weight loss and make sure I make it to the gym 3-4 days a week. I usually see a drop in weight so I stay really good for a couple of weeks. Then the bad to good cycle starts all over again. From what I read this is totally common. The brain was not operated on...and it rebels and wants to go back to the "good old days". You are doing just the right thing to put things straight and healthy for you. Keep it up!

I've never been off protein shakes and I bet I never will. I make them from scratch using Greek yogurt, protein powder, frozen fruit, sweetener, milk and ice. I freeze them and then nuke them to eat like ice cream every single morning. I actually like them and it's 180 calories and 26 grams of protein. It keeps me full for at least 4 hours. When I feel myself sliding I amp it up to 2 a day and that gets me back on focus.

Sorry to hear that fell back to some of your old ways and you also realized that you needed to take action. As long as you realized you needed to stop is the best part of falling off. Keep up the good work and be blessed.

Sure. And I think they are super yummy. I can't tell you how many non bariatric people I have turned onto the benefits of protein, My husband has lost 35 pounds switching to this protein shake for breakfast form all his carbs and fat.

    1 Cup Greek Yogurt
1 Cup frozen or fresh fruit (I use frozen cause it's less expensive unless a neighbor gives me fresh mangoes like this weekend. Yum!)
    1 tsp sweetener or sugar
1 scoop of whey powder. (I use the huge bag from Costco that lasts forever)
a splash of milk (I use condensed and add water to make it 2%)
    Ice cubes

I dump everything in and blend. This makes 2 approximately 8 ounce shakes. I bought high quality freezer containers which is the highest cost)

These average 180 calories and 26 grams of protein. Thanks to these my doctor took me off calcium because Greek yogurt is so calcium rich. These cost under $1.00 each when I buy everything from Costco. Losing weight and saving money. Yeah!

Hi there, keeping a diary of everything ou eat or drink is a good idea. I'm a slow loser. But I'm getting there. Remember this is your journey. Lots of people think surgery is a miracle cure for losing weight & that it will "just work" not realising just how much work we have to put in too. This is probably because of all the negativity "easy way out" comments we have heard over the years.

Surgery is not the easy way out, it is a tool you can use to give you an edge in your weight loss journey. This is a change for life, it's not a diet, you will not come off it when you have reached your goal. You will think about maintenance.

Slider foods are our challenge! We all have to overcome, by whatever method that works. With me as I had to self pay I think is that 69p bar of chocolate worth it! You spent 12k on this op, make it worth it. To stop me eating a whole bar, I have little children's choccy bars in the freezer & just get what I fancy, which is usuall just 1. But there is that time of the month & I can pin it to the day! Where in want 2 or 3 & you know what? That's ok once a month!

Weather you are full self pay, part self pay , or insurance funded, make it worth it x you can do it.
