Default Surgery again??? yes or no

In December, 2013 it will be 2 years, and i have only lost 70 pounds. I had a physical and i gained 10 pounds within a year. I am so thinking about having the sleeve done again.

Has anyone had to do this? What do you think? I am not eating a lot because, I can't, but the weigh wont go.

    Help

    Hello Friend

I feel your pain. When I had my surgery I was 215lbs. I've lost 65lbs. I'm treading around 150-155, but I haven't lost anymore than that. I attribute it to my stomach stretching a bit, and the fact that I don't exercise much. I wish that I would have been a little more careful about not stretching my stomach because now I can eat a little more than I would have liked. Do you exercise? Also, I don't know about you but I fell back into eating some of the things that got me fat from the start. Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that I got the surgery, but I need someone to tell me too, how to get this last 30lbs off.

    Sheri

If your thyroid levels are normal, and you are exercising & eating what you should and as little or as much as you should, and your doc can't find anything that would hinder your weight loss, consider looking into the duodenal switch. I have been fortunate so far with my sleeve, but if I stop losing before my goal, I may get the switch.
    highest pre-surgery (2/2013) 419 lbs
    lowest post-surgery (4/2014) 245 lbs
    highest pst-surg regain (1/2020) 362 lbs

I understand everyone is different, however in order to stretch out my stomach I'd have to eat through major discomfort. Any more than 4 or 5 bites and I'm extremely uncomfortable for 10-15 minutes which is enough time to dump the rest of my meal in the garbage. Combine that with the will to succeed has made my weight loss automatic. I've gone from 300 to 192 this morning since December 4th. I literally never CRAVE food. I feel empty, I eat. My daily intake is a Muscle Milk shake in the morning. A cup of yogurt between 9's on the golf course, a chicken wrap of some sort after golf and then maybe more chicken or fish with veggies in the evening. Oh yeah, 2 Dewar's on the rocks at cocktail hour. I also take Flintstone vitamins and snack on a protein bar most days. Just thought sharing what I've been doing might help and I wish you all the best in your journey!

    Muscle MilK 180 calories
    Yogurt 140 calories
Chicken Caesar Wrap - 350 calories
    Protein Bar 140 calories
Fish or Chicken dinner - 350 calories
Dewar's - 280 calories and that's a little less than 1500 per day and I've stabilized my weight in the low 190's

Goal: Getting into that uniform again! 190 would do it.

In my experience... with me its always the carbs...
I would recommend you record your carb intake on an electronic program of some sort... I use myfitnesspal.com .
Keep your carbs to 50 or below if you want to lose weight...
And of course, keeping your protein at at least 60 and drinking plenty of water and do some exercise even if that means a 20 min walk around the neighborhood... you WILL lose...
My biggest challenge is keeping the carbs down. I also found that recording the carbs enlightened me on the excess number I was eating... I have totally changed my eating... not eating the same foods in just smaller portions... but instead...eating healthier LOW/NO carb foods instead... lots of veggies that I now crave instead of sugar...

    Good luck!

What has helped me with the last few pounds is bumping up my exercise. I joined an exercise class and boot camp. I fill up on veggies if I need to snack.
