"One"-der land! Finally!

I have not been one of the "speediest" losers since my sleeve surgery last October 23, but it has been a slow and steady journey. I finally hit "One-derland", and couldn't be more thrilled. My weight loss has been perfect for me, because I had made a decision not to tell anyone except my family and a few close friends, it looks more realistic to those who are not "in the know".
I have 8 more pounds to get to the surgeon's goal, and 18 to get to mine. I have so much more energy, I feel better, look better, exercise every weekday (something I never would have DREAMED I would do before surgery!). I really don't even have a lot of excess skin issues and can't help but think the slower rate of loss has helped that. (Also the fact that I am 5'10" has probably helped some) All in all, life is good. I am so very thankful for this surgery. If has given me a new lease on life.
I have a 35 year class reunion coming up Labor Day Weekend. I have some weight loss goals to hit. As I continue on my journey, I want to tell you all "Thank you" . I am so thankful for the friendship and support that I receive on this forum.

(An added note of hope to you "newbies"...I never experienced hair loss, thank goodness! I did make it a point to get in my protein. I don't know if that is what made the difference or not.)

Julie, my wonderful sleeve buddy, you have done so well for yourself!! I am so proud of you. Congratulations, what a wonderful feeling that is. Yes I lost faster than you but I also ended up with a lot of excess skin. I am 10 lbs from my goal but my plastic surgeon says that he doesn't want me losing anymore weight, I am just maintaining now. He says that once I have the skin removed I will be about 15-20 lbs under my goal. I am trying to get my insurance to pay for my breasts and my tummy because I have a history about 2 yrs. back of rashes under the skin. We will see....... Then it's off to Mexico once more for the thighs and arms. Looking forward to wearing some clothes that won't have lumps under them. Hee Hee! Best wishes to you girl!!!

You are awesome! You will be smashing for your 35 year reunion. My before picture was at my 30 year reunion; it's pretty sad. What 7 months has made a difference for me too. Absolutely wonderful Julie! I too have been slow. However, I started again on 2 protein shakes and 1 meal and I've started losing again. I did have hair loss even though I started Biotin before surgery. After doubling up on Biotin every day, it is now getting thicker again (hair sprouting every which way). I wouldn't take anything for this surgery either. My goal is another 40 lbs and I don't think it'll take me but another 2 weeks or so to get to "One"-der land. It will be a celebration!
