    Default Feeling Amazing!

I have not checked in a while, and figured I would say hello to everyone! I am 3 weeks post op today and feel amazing! I am eating soft foods, and staying away from those little devils; carbs! I am, however, having a problem with feeling "hungry" and can eat more than I thought possible and not feeling full. Is this normal?

    Hi, Sascass.

I'm almost three weeks out, too, and wondered the same. I asked my doctor about it during my follow up visit. Right now, what we're ingesting is passing through us pretty quickly. Once we start eating more solid foods that stick with us, we will not only feel the "full" sensation, but will not feel as hungry. Congrats on your new life and all the weight you've lost so far!

    Lovely

I am about 10 days in and just about to move to soft food (at my post-operative check-up today I was told I was ready for porridge, and I can't wait!), and also have been feeling a bit hungry at times, so thanks for providing the reassurance that this is "normal"!

When you are in the soft stage the food is soft and doesn't put much pressure on your sleeve so the full signal is not as strong as it will be when you progress to solid foods. This is by design since you sleeve is still healing and you need to be gentle with your new tummy. Be patient with yourself. I will say greek yogurt fills me up though and I don't get hungry again for hours. Try to find a soft protein you like to help with that hungry feeling.

It really depends on what I am eating. Things like Yogurt and such I can just seem to keep eating. But that changes when I go to eat a piece of chicken..I think I can do 2-3 ounces. I noticed it also depends on the day for me, sometimes I can't even finish a protein shake in the morning or can't even finish 2oz of chicken...I am 2 and a half months out.
