Day 2 Post Op

Hi all,

I had my surgery Thursday July 11th. I'm feeling ok, just really sore and a little nauseous if I drink too fast. When does the soreness go away? I haven't been able to get much sleep because it hurts to move.

Hi I had my surgery Thursday as well. I know what your going through. It can be painful. Especially the gas. I found sleeping in a semi upright position helps with sleep but the gas is going away and I'm slowly beginning to intake a little more fluid. I'm super sore from my stomach. I haven't found a pharmacy that has the pain medicine they prescribed me. I hope you feel better soon.

I think I was able to sleep on my left side by week 2. Before that there was no way to do so or lay on my back so it was the right side for a long time. I think you will be amazed at how much better you are going to feel every single day! Just take it easy on yourself, allow yourself to heal, and don't do too much.

There was one time that I was feeling almost back to normal. I was grooming one of my dogs, sitting in a chair. As I picked him up (10lbs) I twisted to set him down on the floor and something popped where my incisions were but it was deep inside. I thought for sure I popped a stitch or something bad happened to my new stomach! Moral of the story, your going to feel really good someday, be in your groove, and forget to watch what your doing.

Thanks guys! I'm feeling ok, just really tired and sore. LisaFlores, the pain medication the gave me is pineapple flavored and can't keep it down. So as of right now I'm not on anything. I am drinking plenty of fluids though, I don't want to be dehydrated.

Congrats!! Dr. Feiz did mine 8 days ago... I had my 1 week post op yesterday with Dr. Larry. I PROMISE... It gets Better!! I have already lost 13lbs since my surgery on 07/05/13 and 24lbs since my pre-op diet. I didnt really want to eat anything for at least the first 3 days.... mostly water and wylers lemonade. but now..the pretein shakes and soups are fine...even had some peanut butter today

That's so comforting to hear! I was really happy with Dr. Feiz, my 1 week post op visit is Thursday with Dr. Larry. I'm keeping my liquids down and feeling a bit better so that's good.

I'm feeling much better today! I actually got a decent nights sleep last night. I've been walking around and staying hydrated. So far so good!

Just checking in. I'm feeling fantastic, I'm walking and staying hydrated. I had my one week appointment yesterday and Dr. Larry said I'm doing great. It's my birthday today, so that was really hard. I was offered a lot of food and had many offers to go out tonight. But I'm staying strong, and I'm going to enjoy a nice night in. Hope all is well with you!

i was sleeved the same day as u - my pain is almost all gone - and each day i feel better - sip sip sip and on we go !!!
