My journey starts today: 7/8/13

So I will finally be getting my surgery today at 8a.m. central time. I am completely nervous and excited, such in fact that I haven't even slept at all, It's 2:24a.m. by the way. I wonder if not sleeping is good or bad for the surgery. My Fiancé is fast asleep next to me and I wish I had the same calm as he did. I'm going into this with a peace of mind because I finally told my family and EVERYONE supports my decision, I feel so lucky to have such a great support system. Well bags are packed, toes are painted (I have this crazy notion that the surgical team would judge my jacked up toes if I don't paint them, am I the only one that thought this?!?!) and pets are boarded....I just cannot wait any longer and hope everything goes fantastic

I wish you the best! Just wait! Painting your toenails and so much more is going to get sooo much easier for you! Be sure to take some full body pictures, front, side and back this morning before you go! You may not like them now, but they will be a wonderful reference point for you later on!

Me? I started my journey 11 months ago. I wore size 26/28, and I weighed 289. Today, I weigh 107 pounds less, and wear 14/12. My journey has been awesome! The coolest thing is not what you loose but what you gain...my whole life is so much better, I am so much healthier, too.

You are going to amaze yourself! Wecome to the Other Side!

Hey Ishatina! My surgery is today too and at the same time at yours. I just wok up and it's 339 AM HERE! LOL I also painted my toes and fingernails. I am a ball of nerves but I am excited too! Good luck with your journey!

Good morning, You will get good sleep once you go into surgery, Lol. You will do great, just remember to take it slow, sip, don't drink, and walk as soon as you can get up. A couple of days after, you will probably get discouraged and wonder if you made a mistake, it won't last long, you will be over that feeling in a day or 2. Good luck, and keep us updated.

Anesthesia is the best sleep. You will rest then. I hated waking up but my friend woke me up to walk! Got to love her. Anyway, good luck and God bless. You will be fine and in God's and the surgeon's hands.

Ishatina and Delana - Best of luck to both of you today! Shortly, you'll both be on the sleeved side. I think we all had trouble sleeping the night before surgery, but, once they add the IV you'll sleep like a baby for a few hours. You'll be disoriented and uncomfortable when you wake up and you'll be thirsty, but just take as deep a breath as you can, burp and go back to sleep for a few hours. I had to wait 6 hours after surgery before I could even have an ice ship and it tasted like heaven! Just remember to get up and walk as soon as you can, burp and BREATHE! You can do this and the rewards are so worth it.

I am 6 months out, weighed in this morning and am down 63.8 lbs and have lost 59 inches. I am now 16.2 lbs from my goal.

According to my time (eastern) you should be getting prepared to go into surgery. How exciting!!! You will on the "Sleeved Side" when you wake up! Wishing you the best. Can't wait to hear from you. (And my toes WILL be painted,too!!)

My surgery is today to. Mine is at 1pm eastern time .I was up all night because of that nasty drink lol... anyways I pray in the name of JESUS we will all do just fine .have to go rchck my hospital bag again make I duiidnt frget anything. Take care people...
