I've Hit a Stall....and I Hit It HARD!!!!!

thank you for posting this Lea! I am up two lbs todayand I freaked out! i am 9 weeks post op and have made it through one stall successfully but weight gain really scared me! I haven't changed anythiing except I swam for an hour yesterday which in my mind should have caused loss not gain. I am working hard to change my idea of how loss happens. I will hold on and see what happens next. I have lost 51 lbs since preop and postop 31 lbs.

we all go through those. it will be fine. I was like u and worried that I had done something wrong or that I had stretched my stomach. It started coming down. After going through this we sure dont want gain huh? each week I am excited. I have lost 52 lbs in less than 3 months. I would have never done that. Hang in there it will be ok

maybe it's the scale...I know sometimes mine messes up and gives me crazy numbers. Only thing I can say is don't obsess over it, it will happen. If you are weighing yourself everyday you will not see the results you were hoping for. Try weighing yourself like once a week. Hope this helps

I saw my surgeon yesterday for a follow-up and he said stalls require a shock to the system to break them. Do a massive change in exercise - he said that's best. Good luck and hang in there! Our bodies need time to 'catch up' to what we've done!

Stalls are so common! Just have faith and patience and work through it! Good luck!

DO NOT WEIGH EVERY DAY! My mother who has bypass 5 years ago told me never to buy a scale. Go with how you feel, and if you feel you are not losing, evaluate your routines and activities change them. Or start with your pre-op to post-op diet and slowly transition. I didn't lose a pound in mid-March to April... it will come trust me.
