I am having a colonoscopy Tuesday. How do I drink all that solution without stretching my sleeve? I can't drink it that fast. HELP!

Consult with the doctor performing the colonoscopy and make sure (s)he is aware of the situation. (S)he might advice you to take in a reduced amount (or not).

Ya and they might be able to substitute some laxative pills, suppositories for some of the liquid. Definitely let your GI MD know your concerns.

I wondered about the prep solution after VSG. I am a colon cancer survivor (4 1/2 years) and have colonoscopy screening done every three years. One of the reasons I had VSG was to hopefully deter a second occurence of cancer (Obesity places people at risk for colon cancer). I planned my surgery after this year's colonoscopy so I have three years to heal and get my weight down before I see my Colorectal Specialist again. I laughingly call myself the "Queen of Colonoscopy preps" as I have done way too many. In the past I found the Gatorade & Miralax cocktail to be the least dreadful (let's face it - inducing diarrhea in yourself is just wrong!). My VSG surgeon assured me that the actual colonoscopy will not be a problem as only the intestinal tract is involved.

I strongly encourage everyone over 50 or anyone with significant changes in bowel function (I was 45 years of age with blood in my stool) to talk to your Doctor. Early detection saves lives !

    Have a great day!
