Sometimes as "veteran sleever" when you try to offer suggestions, or give tough love, folks don't want to hear that. The sleeve is only effective as you make it. You still have to put in the work.

I have been a member here for 9 months, almost 2x's longer than her, should I be 2x's less tolerant? The answer is no, I should be tolerant of repetitive questions. I had many of the same questions that get posted here (less the ones regarding periods), although I typically tried to search for previous posts first and researched the information to have a feel for how accurate the advice is that someone provides.

The easiest thing someone can do is skip over that post if they don't want to read it. But we might be surprised at some of the answers and maybe learn something. What's even better is to help a fellow human being by replying to their post.
The majority of the questions posted are going to be asked over and over since they are common concerns.

If you've been around here for years, and as a veteran find yourself annoyed by the repetitive posts, then maybe it's time to move on in your life. Why are you still hanging out on this forum? If you're not here for support or advice and making snarky posts like this OP's post, then you're not wanted or needed.

So, I guess people are expected to be "perfect" from the start? Well, this is a new life. There are going to be questions, there are going to be issues, and sometimes it just helps to write about it. There are a lot of veterans who offer invaluable information. Maybe you shouldn't read the posts that you "can't stand."

I love these old posts because they remind me of those that no longer post on here anymore. I saw one from SethP. Solid guy with solid advice. I hope he's doing ok. Then I saw one from my girl Truffles. Everyone knows how I feel about her. I miss Truffles.

I didn't get in on this little fracas originally because the OP said what needed to be said the "hand patters" said what they thought needed to be said. No one ever wins that argument.

Old post. Now I feel like an idiot. Reminder to myself..."check dates".

"Lee, by "own it!" your daughter means that you should be proud of your accomplishment and understand that you deserve this. Not because you have to pay it forward or backward to justify your own benefits. She means that this is YOUR accomplishment, and accomplishing that for yourself is enough. You do not have to fix everybody. And you do not owe anyone for the benefits you have earned. They are YOURS!" Ann2
