When I was a new sleever, I was very irriated to see people complain about not losing weight for a week after losing 30lbs in two weeks or something like that. And when people ask if they exercise, the answer is no. I was irriated as a new sleever since I worked my butt off and the weight still came off slowly. I actually avoided the board because I couldn't stand it. So the complaining sometimes makes it unfriendly to people who just got sleeve. I know it was very discouraging to me to read those unrealistic complains.

Now I am far out, I am not irriated by those posts, I skip over them.

Haven't had the surgery yet, but from past failed diet attempts, I plan to ask my husband to hide my scale. The few pound every day fluctuations used to drive me CRAZY. I know it will help me to weigh no more than once a week.

You know what bugs the hell out of me? A grown ass person that doesn't know the difference between lose and loose and you're and your. Maybe figure those out before you start your high and mighty bullshit about anyone else.

Edited to add: Exactly, Mufasa! Kind of makes the ranter look ridiculous.

Ok so a little rant here too,,,lol because so many of us did not have insurance we ended up going to mexico...let me tell very vauge info...no counseling sessions...no nutritionist....and maybe have no support group....i stopped coming on here as much because if you ask a question or show an emotion that someone else doesn't like turns into this kind of post...this is supposed to be a support group...she was right there were no rules about asking even dumb questions...and someone who is heavy probably did not have a lot of nutritional knowledge....so let them ask...and some very kind people answer and encourage.....ok rant over....

I am a newbie Saturday I'm getting sleeved. I could see why someone might want support during a stall. Maybe they want another newbie who is going through it with them at the same time. Especially after a life changing surgery and hard work starting with pre op. So if I post something that offends you or sounds stupid to you don't call me out on it. I've been judged enough during my life. Have a great night. I'm packing to leave in the a.m .God has his hands on all of us Amen.

I understand where the OP is coming from, but I just ignore the posts that are a little tiring or repetitive. This forum is comprised of people from many cultures, social backgrounds and life experiences. This might be the only place they get a kind word all day! We've even had some emotionally fragile people. Heaven knows they need patience and kindness. And....sometimes the preop diet people get a little edgy. But this isn't the first flare up I've seen on this forum. It's sad when people are driven away because of it. I think I've raised hackles a little a few times. I just ducked. It's all good!

Not because you have to pay it forward or backward to justify your own benefits. She means that this is YOUR accomplishment, and accomplishing that for yourself is enough. You do not have to fix everybody. And you do not owe anyone for the benefits you have earned. They are YOURS!" Ann2

Although you may not be able to stand these complaints, this is a like others have said is supposed to be a safe place where people can talk with others about how their journey is going and get the help they need. If you don't like a post just pass on to the next one. No need to insult people who are struggling.

so im not going to be able to just put protein powder in beer to get all my protein in a day post surgery? j/k

i truly appreciate the info from those who have had the surgery for a while. theres times i want to know what to expect in the couple days following surgery - but ive also enjoyed those who can say what to expect years after surgery.

I have been on this forum for less than one year. I have read many repetative posts such as stalls and is it ok to eat certain foods at a particular point post surgery, that have been asked over and over again. I even offered advice and supportive words for many of them.

I was a newbie too and still basically am. People need reassurance or help so they post these and many other questions. No one should be upset by those questions, even if they are the same ones posted over and over and could be found with a simple search.

My father always told me that "The only stupid question is the one that is never asked".
So maybe try to search for that topic first, but if not, please ask the question. If someone doesn't want to read it, then they can skip over your post. If you have a question, there are probably many other people who have the same one too.
No one should criticize you for asking a reasonable question, so ask away.

I think that if you have been around here for years, you would understand the OP's frustration. Its not that there is no sympathy, but there is a level of frustration of the whining of "I've only lost 40 lbs in a month" kind of attitude. Sometimes as "veteran sleever" when you try to offer suggestions, or give tough love, folks don't want to hear that. The sleeve is only effective as you make it. You still have to put in the work.
