I just had my surgery June 20th. Craving foods like crazy but have stuck to the liquid post op so far. My start weight was 315lbs
when my cravings started, about 2 weeks after surgery my doctor told me to try whatever I was craving. My body would let me know if I could handle it or not. I was really craving chili, dont know why but I was. I had a small Wendy's chilli made 4 meals out of it.
Congrats on your success. Im 5 days in. Feeling a little pain today below the breast where my stomach starts. I think my sips are too big. Going to my first post op appointment Friday.
Good luck on the pre op. I cheated a bit lol. My doctor said I did really well judging by the size of my liver. He said even though I cheated. I had a weak moment the day before surgery. I had some wings from outback along with a salad. tasted great but tore my stomach up.
Yes Nelli,Not only tried it but was sucessful keeping it down. just had about 3 or 4 small bites per meal. Some foods dont agree with me still. I can tell from the time I'm chewing the first bite if they will or not. Havent had any problems with steamed veggies. Blackened scallops and grilled shrimp are my favorites. Still cant tolerate steak, as much as I loved BBQ pork just cant handle it so far.
you'll do fine! The cravings will change as you change your habits. I have learned to keep something around to snack on. I have a banana, that I cut 1/2 wheels off of when I feel snacky. It keeps the cravings down & I feel satisfied as well. I don't feel as if I am depriving my self of anything. Also, my boiled eggs. I eat only the egg white for breakfast & two fill me up for the day. I don't eat the yoke. So it's 15 cals & 3 grams of protein each!
i know this is well odd but have not smoked since my sleeve either! tried to give up so many times before...think it really does something to you psychologically with cravings etc. so strange how i dont feel hungry either! come to a brick wall the last 2 days though...the scales havnt shifted! it is so much easier than i thought it would be! x
