I am 5-6 weeks post op, my dietician said that I can start eating whole food now. She said that it needs to be moist but other then that I have no idea what sort of things I should eat or stay away from.... also what do I do about cravings?
tuna, chicken salads, turkey lunch meat with cheese sticks were my life savers during that time. non fat greek yogurt, I love chicken breasts but they were really dry so I would grill them and then make a light gravy or have some sort of sauce with the chicken. I did a lot of black bean salsa as well, soups, I still have issues with beef and pork so tend to stay away from them for the most part. You can do ground turkey, turkey sausage etc those are a few of the things I ate during that time period. I also did a lot of stirfry's with spinach, chicken, spaghetti squash etc. there's a lot of stuff you can do you just have to be creative and find what works for you. It's experimenting with eating all over again. I also did a lot of peanut butter on crackers and eating it out of the jar. The biggest thing to look for is stuff with high protein that you can consume regularly. You will find out what works for you through trial and error.
Don't you pay your dietician to guide you on exactly what to eat??? Anyway, the post by ZETAGIRL66 is right on. I ate A LOT of watermelon at your stage!
