Today marks the beginning of the arduous journey to my fit self!

Had my consultation & she said I'm a perfect candidate for VSG. And so begins the unending list of appointments to make & keep! :P All goes to plan (HA! :P) I'll be joining y'all on the sleeve side by this fall. Thanking God for the VA as usual. They may be a giant pain in the butt to get things done, but there's no way I could afford all the care they provide for us veterans. <3

This consultation had to be the most brutal doctor appointment I've ever had. I faced a lot of issues I had no idea I even had. From pre-diabetes to probable GERD & fatty liver disease. The scariest of all is the strong likelihood of sleep apnea. Everything is at that just crossing the line point & I guess I'm in shock I let myself get so unhealthy. This isn't some virus I contracted or genetic disease; I did this. Through bad eating, inactivity, & basic neglect of my health, I have been slowly poisoning & destroying my body from the inside out. I think I'm in honest to God shock right now, but it's time to regroup & focus on the new mission: repair what I've damaged.

Glad you've made the first step in the right direction. We all feel the same way. Don't get caught up in the shame and disappointment. We are going to work at this and get to where we need to be. Good luck and hope you get everything you need from this journey. Keep us posted.

Thanks & will do. I think this site helps a lot with self reflection. To have to formulate your thoughts & emotions into coherent text for others to understand offers an insight into oneself that is priceless.
