I've just started the process for the sleeve surgery. Hoping insurance doesn't turn me down after going through all the requirements. Has anyone ever had that happen to them? What did you do after it happened? My doctor has said I qualify for the procedure but I don't know if BCBS will send me something saying I've been approved by them. Ugh! Just don't want to get my hopes up and then have them smashed. Can someone please help me to understand all this? Thanks everyone and good luck on your new journeys in life.

Well I have bcbs of Ohio and I was approved today. From the time docs faxed in papers to them til now was only 3 business days! I was worried that I wasn't going to be approved either because I have a history of blood clots in my lungs and was just diagnosed as having a clotting factor in my blood! I'm sure if your doctor says you're a go then the insurance will too. Good luck to you, I haven't seen to many denials on this site! :0)
