Hi-
I'm a 61 year old thinking about the sleeve. Any advice from anybody in this age range who's had the surgery?

I am 56 and have my 1st consultation on Wednesday with a Surgeon and a Dietician. I am anxious and very excited. I suggest you get an appointment and get the process started. There are many options out there. Today I was reading about the Fold which is not covered yet by insurance and is a new and somewhat experimental procedure these days. The cost out of pocket for 'the fold' is $10,000 and is reversible unlike being sleeved. I have done a lot of research and the sleeve is the best, in my opinion out there and seems to have the best results. If I cannot get an insurance approval I am headed to Mexico!
best to you in your journey, you have made an excellent decision by joining this group!
they are the best around
Hi my name is Catheryn and I am 59 years old and had the sleeve on 2-14-13 and on the 7-5-53 I will hit the big 60 so I do understand what you are concern about, would I have the sleeve again (YES) it is the 2 best thing I ever did, the 1st was and is accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal saviour.so I really but the sleeve up there; yes we loss weight a little slower than the younger ones but we still loss a lot of weight and you will feel better about your self and you will look younger, but you will not be able to eat very much at all which is a good thing, at frist you will be sore but not in alot of pain, what i felt like is that I had done about 50 situp's I throwup a few times because I did over eat soup's and thing's my 2 to3 week out but them I learned, I was a little sick at frist because I went back to what I was doing 1 week after I left the hospital, but on the 2 week I was doing great; everyone told me how great I looked, so would I do it again have the sleeve YES YES,many times over, I am so happy I did it, just don't over eat.
