    Default 3 month preop

    Hi there,
I'm Brit I'm 3 months preop. I'm nervous scared and excited all in one. My biggest fears are more of what other people will think and the pain. No one is really supportive but the choice is mine and mine alone to make so i made it. I'm not sure what to except but the more i read and the more i learn and talk to people it seems that i've made the right choice. Good luck to everyone who is continuing their weight loss i'm sure you all look amazing. and good luck to the preops!!!

1st off....don't worry about what other people think. I've only shared this information with people who I knew would support me....not judge me.

Pain is a relative thing. Some have it, some don't, some tolerate it well, some don't. Sadly that is the thing you won't know until you have the surgery.

You'll do great because you're doing this for YOU!

its difficult for people to understand because they think you we took the easy wasy out! So, I really told no one until after it was done. My family I told a weel or so before surgery. So..... people will always have an opinion, disregard it and live for you!

I have told 6 people about my plan for surgery (My mom, dad, brother, sister, and the two ladies that work side-by-side with me).. That's aside from my PCP and her nurse, of course. Those 6 people are all people that I pretty much HAD to tell. I see each of them everyday or at least several times a week. I have not told a single friend and I honestly don't plan to.. I didn't tell them how I gained the weight so I'm not going discuss how I'm losing it either.

Initially I worried a lot about what people might say when they see that I've dropped 50+ pounds. I live in a small town so it won't take long before I hear about how I've become a crack addict, contracted a rare disease, or something crazy like that. Once I thought about it, I decided that people are going to make uneducated guesses about EVERYTHING, why not let them make one more? If I give them one more topic to gossip about for the day, they can thank me for it later.

As for the pain, it is only temporary in comparison to the life-long journey that comes with the sleeve. Best of luck to you! Sending wishes for minimal pain!
