21 kilo loss in 10.5 weeks

Man am I excited. This is so awesome that I'm losing weight and not really trying and it's all because my stomach is smaller. I got mine done in Perth on April 6 and I haven't looked back. I'm eating normal food from porridge too chicken stroganoff and rice...vita weats with cheese tomato and ham sometimes and it's just in small portions. My mum is flying over on Sunday from Brisbane so the test will be when she sees me at the airport. I have also just helped a friend of my husband's recovery for his as well. He lives in a remote part of WA so flew down for the op and then stayed here for 6 days while he recovered and flew out today. It's becoming quite popular where my husband works too which is great. He got his done on May 2 and he's lost about 18 kilos in 6 1/2 weeks. I told him he sucked the other day because he's losing more that me LOL. I hope everyone is doing really well :-)

That's very encouraging I lost 13 in the first 2 weeks and this third week I have lost nothing on the scales but my sister says I have lost inches instead ... I guess I just have to keep on doing what I am doing. How much exercise do you do and what type? At the moment, I do a little walking but would really like to step it up but not sure what I should be doing only 3 weeks post op. Any thoughts would be a great help

I haven't actually done much exercise as I was so big and I had knee problems. The dietician said not to do any real exercise until I'd lost 30 kilos which is very soon. I've now lost 27 kilos in 15 weeks. I am starting water aerobics next Thursday and I also get on the Wii Fit and do step 3 times a week. It's a bit gentler. Don't be discouraged by not losing in that week because 13 kilos in 2 weeks is sooo awesome. Our surgeon said alot of the big weightloss in the first couple of weeks is water. He said if you don't eat at all then you'll lose a maximum of 2 kilos a week of fat. After week 6 you slow down to about 1 kilo a week. Drink your fluids and you'll be surprised how much you lose. Keep up the great work :-)

Mum does know about the surgery. Actually everyone knows now :-) We told her a month later cause my husband went in for it then too so we told all the family. They are really supportive and proud. I am now 1kg short of 50 kilos. I didn't lose anything for about 6 or 7 weeks but upped the exercise and kept persisting and am now about a kilo a week weightloss. I can't remember being this small hehehe.
