Default Feels like weight is slow coming off...am I where I need to be?

I had my surgery on March 26, 2013....so I am 6 weeks out and right at a loss of 30 lbs. I see some folks have lost 40 pounds and up at this point. I fell two weeks ago and severly bruised my ribs and have not been able to get any exercise. Just starting to worry and not really sure where I am supposed to be on the scale at this point.

You're doing just fine, great even! My advice now that I'm 13 weeks out -- be on your own journey. Don't focus on or compare your loss to others, it's not apples to apples and you'll always find someone losing faster. Why invite discouragement? Just watch and celebrate your own loss. Would you have EVER been unhappy with 30 lbs in 6 weeks before this surgery?

I too am losing slowly and started to get a little discouraged but someone made me realize that this is an individual journey. Everyone's body type is different and we will not all lose the same. I think you are doing an incredible job so keep doing what you know is right and it will enentually start falling right off.

I agree with Tawny. Each person's journey is their own. I had my surgery the day before you and have lost 31 and that includes the pre-op diet. I have been able to exercise. I do struggle with my protein and it seems that I either get all my water or all my protein but rarely both in the same day. For the last 2 weeks, my weight has stayed the same. I do notice that my clothes are a lot loser than they were 2 weeks ago. I am trying to focus on the positve and keep walking the journey. I am sure the scale will start to move again soon!!!!

Thanks ladies! I will keep my "individual journey" in mind as I go along. Yes! I am excited about this loss...am committed to the "new me" but of course I worry....that is why I was overweight in the first place I was a stress eater. The cool thing is I am finding other ways to destress after work and even during the work day. I love that things are finally changing after years of just worrying.

I've noticed that around 3 months most people have dropped 50 something pounds, so I would say you're right on schedule! Good job. And Tawny is so right. Losing 30lbs in 6 weeks has NEVER happened to me, so I'd take it! Keep inspiring me !

Don't you think your weightloss amount also has to do with the amount you need to lose altogether?
