I'm within 15-25# of goal and as a 41 y/o man, I'm going to need (want!) some lower abdominal and pubic lifting. The rest of me is doing OK. I realize it's vain but I also work out a lot and my weight tended to concentrate in my abdomen so I think this will help both aesthetically and functionally. With that said I think I want a mini tummy tuck because I have pretty strong abs and would prefer the smaller scar. I'm not seeking perfection just improvement. I'm targeting early fall which is a good time for me to be "down" and hopefully I will be at a good weight for it then. I have < 25# to go before I think it would help so 4 months seems reasonable.

I still have a ways to go to reach goal but yes, I plan on getting my stomach done when all is said and done. Thankfully, my insurance will cover that. A friend who lost weight, not surgically, just had her arms done and it cost her $8K. I would love to get my arms done also but I am not sure if I want to spend that kind of money. I also heard that you can get work done through some universities with doctoral students. In my area, I heard it is through UCLA so I may check that out. I had my braces done many years ago through USC dental school and that turned out all right so who knows. To get my stomach done though, I need to reach goal and maintain my weight for a year before insurance will cover it so it is something for me to strive for.

How much does a tummy tuck or mini tuck cost? I was holding my arms out and shaking them in the mirror the other day to see if I thought they would be bat arms. LOL I don't think they will be too bad but I too carry my weight in my mid section so I suppose a tummy tuck will be in the cards for me someday. I'm sure if I lose all of my weight I will be able to convince my husband to pay for it....hopefully!

My sister just had both of her arms done and a tummy tuck with her doctor in Tijuana (she lives in Mexico) and the price tag was about $5,500 for all. She was in the hospital juve overnight. She has been home now for 2 nights. A neighbor stayed the first night because she couldn't get up by herself. She was on her own last night and was able to get up and around before she sent her neighbor home for the night.
