    Default Tummy Tuck, loose skin?

    Hey Everyone,

I was just wondering how many of you have or have not had to deal with extra skin requiring plastic surgery? I am really hoping that I won't need it and would like to know how common it is.

    Thank you so much!

My stomach is a mess. I'm wanting a tummy tuck and a under arm lift. I would love a full body lift but I'm sure I could never afford that.

I want a tummy tuck after I lose my weight. It sags now ... it will get worse. I found a doctor in Dallas who isn't too expensive and is really good. Hope I can do it.

I think 90% of WLS patients have the excess skin no matter how much they exercise.
I only lost 75 pounds and needed a TT and arm lift...well...I don't know if I "needed" it, but for damn sure wanted it.
So, I had the TT and arms done at the same time, then a few months later, had my breasts done, then a few months later had a Full Facelift.
I'm DONE now! I would have never been satisfied to have had to keep the excess skin the rest of my life!

i'm only half way to goal, but there is NO DOUBT i will need abdominoplasty and panniculectomy for my stomach. it is a MESS. It hangs below the pubic area and there is a lot of skin...a LOT. i'd love to have my boobs done, but doubt i'll be able to afford it for a few years. A good bra will keep them ok in clothes anyway. i was ok on my legs even when i was super fat, and now, they seem to be toning up ok, im working on inner thighs with weights at the gym, but its not horrible. my arms are ok, i have a bit of wings, but nothing i would feel needed surgery. one area that surprised me though was my double chin which is rapidly becoming a turkey neck.....im not sure excercise will help it, ive been considering some sort of neck lift...i looked into "lifestyle lift" just for that area, my face in general is ok at this point, though the small wrinkles are definitely deeper with less fat.

the plastic surgeon i consulted said that if you are under 35, many women can bounce back from weight loss surgery without needing plastic surgery....provided they had good elasticity to begin with. if you got tons of stretch marks, or stretchmarks before you even had kids, that is an indication that your skin elasticity sucks. colagen breakdown...and after forty, most of us can just forget the skin springing back.

I have the loose skin plague too. Even my husband who dropped 60 pounds has it. I'm not having anything done. I guess at 54 I don't care anymore.

I started at the same weight you are and have lost 88 lbs. I don't think I will have surgery...unless I win the lottery. I have some loose skin, but it isn't all wrinkly, I guess I am a lucky 50 year old with semi-elastic skin. I do bikini videos on youtube of my progress, judge for yourself. Good luck!

Wow, you look wonderful! I always wonder what happened to some of the folks who used to post, and it's so nice to see your progress. Your legs are amazing, girl! I bet life is totally different for you now. Keep us up to date!
I'm a little wrinkly around the thigh area, but at 63, I don't think I'm willing to go through the process of plastic surgery; but I surely dream about it

    Carolyn,
Thank you so much for guiding you to your videos, I LOVED watching them! You are so spunky so it was really fun to watch. I had been getting nervous as my surgery date is fast approaching but you got me excited again so THANK YOU for that.

I am two years post op and have lost 118lbs. I'm 32 and have some loose skin but not too bad. I've been using products from the ItWorks! line to help tone up my skin and flatten things out more. I liked them enough that I even started as a distributor with the company. I use the defining gel twice a day all over and I've noticed a big difference in my skin tone. They also have these body wraps that you can use ANYWHERE. They help slim and tone in a super short amount of time. They are all natural and help detox. Check out my site or PM if you are interested

Have you tried that Crazy Wrap Thing!? Lose inches, tighten, and tone loose skin in as little as 45 minutes. Ask me how! Let me help you with your goals

I understand what you are saying, Celia and I am sorry you are not enjoying your weight loss! Unfortunately, that is the draw back to losing a large amount of weight. Sometimes, when I see large people, I want to tell them all about the SLEEVE surgery and how great it is, but then I stop and think, "But then, they have to deal with the excess skin and not everyone can afford to have that taken care of." If I had not been able to save and go back to Mexico to have my tummy, arms, breasts and face done, I would have SOMEWHOW taken out as many loans as I could have to get it all done. Going from one bad situation to another would be horrible.

On the plus side, you'll most certainly be healthier w/out the fat weighing you down-I don't know about you but I had horrible joint pain, hypertension and other issues.

I think insurance companies will eventually catch up to the loose skin (if it is causing medical, not cosmetic problems-many insurance companies deny the surgery now even when there is chafing, sores, pain, rashes, etc.) but not fast enough for a lot of people. Thank God for Mexico-but choose your practioners carefully, folks.
