Why can't people just play nice?

I don't see how someone can bad mouth a Dr and have no experiance with that doctor....That just dosen't make any sence to me. We also have to becareful that someone didn't hack another persons account and is using it to spam others. That happend to me on facebook... Everyone was telling me why are you trying to sell me stuff. I had to tell them it was not me and to not open anything that comes from me till I get it fixed.

Becareful everyone. Not everyone here is trying to help YOU.

I would think that it could be a numerous amount of things. I was bashed for my doctor of choice as well but it did not stop me. I kept going I had a goal and no one was going to pay for me to get there but me.I can say I liked my experience and I knew i made the best choice for me and that is all that matters.

I used Dr. Almanza and I didnt have any problems with the surgery. I dont work for him in any way either! My experience was good. And the closer I got to my surgery I stopped ALL negative nellys that had anything to say about the surgery including my fiance. I made my choice and I am happy with it just as I am sure you will be too. Good choice hitting that IGNORE button!!

I am sorry that happened and like another suggested, I would report that poster to Admin.
This is a great forum with great posters....I'd hate to think of a bad apple ruining it for the rest.

I also think you should publicly post her name! I coordinate for a Plastic Surgeon and would never PM someone (or otherwise) and bash their surgeon of choice. I have spent countless hours on some potential clients and then they choose a different doctor for whatever reason. I always wish them good luck on their surgeries and move forward.

Thanks for the post. I just wanted to tell you that I was completely happy with my experience with Dr. Almanza (and no, I don't get paid for saying so! lol)

I was not going to out the person that said this to me but I have had several people both pm me and also on the forum give me some good advice as to why I should out this person....and I totally agree with them so here is her msg:

I agree why can't we all just support each other and our own choices and be a positive support system for each other, I have had some sharp words with some others but we handled it like adults and moved . Lets help each other that's what this is all about. Peace out people

I'm not sure of the specifics of the situation and if the person was spamming you, or getting money for a referral, or something similar, then shame on them. With that said, I try to keep people from going to the doctor I went to, because he nearly killed me (literally). I am incredibly blessed to be here and it is no thanks to him. I know everyone does their very best to research and choose the right doctor but sometimes things go wrong. The reason I wouldn't recommend my doctor is when something did go wrong he did not take care of it and I kept getting sicker and sicker even when I kept telling him something wasn't right. His post-surgery care was terrible. I wouldn't even say his surgery skills were poor - I honestly don't know. I'm saying all that because perhaps the person really thought they were helping???? And maybe not. I honestly don't know any of the information (nor do I want to know the specifics of the people) but if they were just being annoying then good riddance! This site is great and I'm glad you aren't letting one bad person scare you away from the great many other people here that are awesome.

Erin, I think sharing your own experience is completely different and given the seriousness of your experience, I completely understand.

But when someone is pimping their doctor to other people before they've even had their own surgery, my guess is they are getting a reduction in price or paid for any referrals.

Also, I think there's a difference between starting or answering a public thread, and unsolicited PM-ing. I also support the idea of letting Media Hound know as administrator - they sorted out a previous problem I had with some unethical behaviour by someone on the forum in relation to my posts and blogs. In part they did this by changing the forum rules and posting to let everyone know. A forum can quickly go from supportive to unsupportive if not well moderated when problems start arising.

I agree that you should report this to the administrator. Totally unexceptable behavior. Who knows if this person has scared people from the forum.
