    Default Post op food/recipe ideas?

    Hi everyone,

I wanted to start this thread, as obviously there a major diffrences between food available in the US and UK as there is in Australia. Does anyone have and food suggestions for sleevers in Australia. I am about 11 wks post op and have lost 43kg. While Im extremely happy with my weight loss, I am eatinga fairly limited variety of food atm. For breakfast, I have an Up&Go, for lunch a piece of vegetable slice (1/2 cup), tuna patty(1/2 cup) or sml tin of baked beans and for dinner a vegetable slice (1/2 cup), tuna patty (1/2 cup) or a half cup of diced chicken.

The greatest thing about my current diet is convienience as I can pre make all these things, freeze them and take trhem to work with minimal fuss, but would appreciate your ideas.

At 11 weeks post op aren't you able to eat most anything? I think I would roast a turkey to have available all week, BBQ chicken, turkey burgers (maybe no bun). You may want to look at Kalyn's KitchenŽ. This website has lots of high protein foods to cook. Homemade chili with turkey is always a good one. Good Luck Aussie.
    P.S. The kids are darling!

Hi there. Does sound a bit repetitious and would get mundane pretty quick. For brekky, what about porridge?, fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt, eggs or a slice of pre- made frittata - most of which would supply more protein than the Up & Go. The Weight Watchers porridge has more protein in it and it delivers a whole bunch of fibre.
Have you looked at the Egg Face site - admittedly it is US focussed, but you can readily dig around for recipes that translate to Australian ingredients. I've used a couple of them and introduced myself to Turkey Mince it's like beef mince, but lighter - yet not as light as chicken mince.
I haven't really got yo grips with my post op diet yet, but keen to swap recipes.

Don't you have a lot of fresh fish in Australia? That's what I'd be eating! Seafood is so much easier on my tummy than meat, and probably better for me too.

Scallops, shrimp, salmon, tuna, or any fish is top of my food list. And fresh fish is so much tastier than any pre-made stuff.

    Hello
The gastric sleeve procedure requires patients to undergo strict pre and post operation dietary changes in order to make successful weight loss achievable, in that condition you have to avoid the use of spices in your food.Try to take light and healthy food for the better impact of your surgery.
    Thanks

Wrong, wrong, wrong. I use spices in everything I eat. I love hot sauce and use Siracha and Green Dragon sauce in just about everything. Don't even get me started on Buffalo sauce.............

    And, I've been pretty successful!
