Nervous. 5 days to go!

I only just found this site (courtesy of Google) and there are 5 days until my surgery. I'm scared out of my wits, but also nervous about self-sabotage, about it all going wrong, about it all going right, about what happens if ...if.... if.... there are a thousand ifs! So right now I'm just going to take a deep breath and start reading through all of your posts and see if that calms me! (Well, maybe not ALL of your posts, maybe just a small selection seeing as there are like, ZILLIONS of them LOL)

I have a few weeks before surgery. I have the same thoughts in my head but I have made goals for myself to become healthy and active. I owe this surgery and weight loss to myself it is my gift to me. There are other tools you can use to that myfitnesspal.com (I signed up recently) is one to help you keep your self honest. Ban the word IF!! and add when, WHEN I eat right I feel good about my choices, WHEN I care enough about myself to be active I feel better. All of these are going through my brain. Good Luck!!

I've been using MFP for about 6 months now.... and Striiv on my phone as a pedometer which links to MFP so yep, I love that bit. It DOES keep me honest!

December I am nervous as well...We both have the same surgery date. Just had my last doc appointment before surgery. Wow it's really happening.

I cant imagine the nerves. I still have a few months to go. I love food soooo much, and love to cook. Its the hardest decision Ive ever had to make.....

It's never an easy decision. Whoever thinks surgery is the 'easy way out' needs their head read. It's not only the hardest decision but the hardest life choice... A permanent one. Good luck and keep us posted!

Phew! It now looms closer and closer. The weekend before is strange because I'm really lethargic from the Optifast but also nervous so filled with tension and energy. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for us! Can't wait to hear from you Ddeendallas saying you're feeling good and it all went well! Keir, you are getting there before the rest of us.... keep us posted!

I was in your shoes last week, I had second thoughts right up to before they took me in. The waiting is the worst because it gives you too much time to doubt yourself! Just remember you have to do what's right for you. All will be fine and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
