Hey just thought I'd say hello. I live in Utah and will be going to my consultation on Monday, April 29th with Dr. Smith at Rocky Mountain Bariatrics. I'm hoping to get in for surgery sometime in May 13'. I am 220 pounds with a BMI of 36. I had the lap band but because of complications had it removed 2 years ago. Within 6 months of having it removed I gained all my weight back and more. Anyway, I'm very nervous and excited at the same time, it's such a huge decision that will affect the rest of my life. Hope I made the right one. Oh, and I'd love to hear from others that had similiar BMI. Thanks

I grew up in Utah, but then I grew fat in Maryland. I'm sure you made the right decision. I mean besides affecting your eating it's really not that big of deal. I haven't felt this good in years and i'm only 3 weeks out.

Hi, I had the band in 09 had it removed (did not like it) and gained all and more. Had the sleeve because it seemed like the answer, no bypass and no foriegn object in body. One year later I am at goal and love my sleeve. Food is just not an issue anymore and I believe thatif I respect the sleeve I will not have a weight issue again. Good luck on your journey.
