I am constantly hearing about someone going to the emergency room. Why did you feel that you had to go to the ER. What was the results ? I am curious just how many people has been through this post-op.:rolleyes.
People go to the ER for lots of things but after this surgery I was told to go to the ER if I had a fever, or I was throwing up (right after surgery I was told throwing up is a really bad thing) and I was told to go if I couldn't get in my fluids and needed to get hydrated. Dehydration can happen really fast especially once your stomach can only hold a small amount at a time if you aren't really careful about your water intake.
I don't understand why you are mad about this?
I've been to the ER 5 times and in just exactly one month post-op. the reason why I keep going back is because I'm dehydrated and I'm nausea. I can't keep nothing down. Water is very hard for me to keep down. I'm still on liquids. It's driving me crazy to be nausea all day everyday. Now the medication they have given me is starting not to work. It's making me depressed because daily things have become hard for me and I have a 3 year old. Pulling my hair out. Not to mention I'm going back today -_-!
Will they gave me a CAT SCAN everything looks ok. Checked my blood, sugar levels blood pressure, blood clots everything looks fine. Potassium is low due to throwing up alot, so they gave me potassium and magnesium and fluids to hydrated me and nausea medication. They just say some pple takes longer to heal. When I say I don't eat nothing I literally mean nothing all day. I'm lucky if I get in Gatorade and water that day. I'm not sad about not eating, it has became a routine so idc anymore. But throwing up all day I can't deal. Then I become weak, one time I was so weak I stayed in the bed the whole day. It's just so hard I don't stay at work long because ill loose all my little energy. I don't have regrets but I don't no what to do. Then I've tried to handle it by myself with out the nausea medicine very bad idea landlord back at the hospital. Just pray for me I just fear falling out with my baby.
Rocky90 consider prayers going up for you. I always hear about the good from the surgery but I have often wondered about the downs like going to the ER. Going to the ER is a serious thing . I would love to hear why from post-op patients. Keep us posted on your recovery please.
Sure I will. One thing I've notice is for the women that can relate its like being pregnant. Your taste buds become enhanced you can taste the minerals in the water. And the smells things that used to smell good doesn't anymore. No longer like most water the colder the water the better. Ice is a big plus.
Rocky90...I had a lady who had surgery with me that had the exact same problem...she was pretty sick for a couple weeks! The doctor said the exact thing to her about slower healing...I'm praying for you and your little one. Have you tried freezing your gatorade? It was a life saver for me during the first couple of months post-op!
