Now I just found out that if I self pay, my insurance won't cover anything THEY think is caused be the sleeve surgery. What else can come up?

My surgeon offered complication insurance. It covered blood clots or stricture.

Has anyone self paid for the VSG in the US? If so, how much was the cost and which doctor did you use? thanks

I privately paid with Dr Emma Patterson at Oregon weight loss surgery and I financed the whole thing at $26,855.54

Mine was in Boca Raton Florida for $10,500 and it is all inclusive my surgeon is Dr. Shillingford. I know several people that went to him and he has done a terrific job for all of us. Good luck with your surgery!

If you are willing and able to pay, my surgeon is amazing and I stayed in super nice hotel, gorgeous state-of-the-art hospital, great care. $12,200 not including airfare. All in all, cost me close to $14K...but well worth it. You can look up my doc on YouTube as well. His credentials are impeccable and complications are as close to none as I've seen.

Also, Dr. Nick has after-care for life....I guess that is probably just check-ups though, not sure about complications.
