Nite time food addiction

Yep.,, I have come to the conclusion that I have a nite time food addiction problem. I do fine during the day sticking to the plan... After 10 pm I turn into an addict. Saturday is the day for the seminar.. I've been having second thoughts . Am I swapping one set of problems for another.. Then I think .. Am I choosing this for the right reasons.. Am I strong enough to see it through by following all the guidelines from the doctor? When I benge eat at night? Wth is wrong with me??

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about!!! before my surgery I would ride along to drive my little brother to work at 10pm (he works night shift) on our way back home from dropping him off we would stop by McDonalds (not every time but probably 3 times a week) and I would order 2 McDoubles...I was terrified that I would not be able to change my eating habits....especially the night time eating...but to be completely honest I am NEVER hungry....like ever...so I don't crave food any longer, not even at night. When you start seeing the weight melt off your so excited you don't care about what your missing...or shall I say what you THINK your missing..well at least thats the case with me. I think you will do fine. Its a very scary process, this forum helps a TON...its a great tool to ask questions, and start feeling confident in your decision. Best of Luck to you!!!

I still binge eat at night. Except the "binges" dont last long because I cant put much food in my stomach. I went from Size 20 to Size 6 and have maintained for 9 months, so I guess its not a big deal.

thanks so much for taking the time to respond..it helps allot. this coming saturday is the seminar...my husband cant go because of his work schedule..i dont thin he really wants me to have the surgery..i just dont want to create any new problems for us..he come home last evening telling me one of his co workers best friemnds wife had the surgery and she isnt doing well. i dont know any details of her complications...but he is saying the what ifs...he is very scared for me to do this..and im on the fencne..leaning towards the sleeve..and he hits me with the what ifs...i december i felland injured my back..everyday i have seveer pain ..my gneral dr. says its not going to get better..and i have to looses the weight ..by bck cant hold up the front is the way he put it..i dont want to kidd myself and say i can do this on my own...i dont wanna be 10 yrs from now and have regretts of not doing it sooner..also i dont want to trade one set of problems..for another . i dont want to burdrn my family because ive chosen to hav the surgery and something went wrong and im sick.. can i get yourthoughts on my mindless ramble?

Oooh that is a TOUGH decision...I had a few friends that were scared of me having the surgery but I have failed at dieting for the past 10 years. I knew for a fact I could not do it alone....towards my surgery date I became very scared and thought about backing out..BUT...I want to be around to see my Grandkids (which better not happen to soon...I have a Freshman in High school) I always hated being the fattest parent at his football & baseball games...my weight has kept me from doing SO MUCH...and even though there were risks....my weight was going to kill me eventually anyway is the way I saw it...so I took the plunge to save my life.
Now that being said...Nausea is VERY common after surgery...BUT...I was lucky and didn't have ANY for the first 2.5 weeks....I have several friends that have had bypass and they said their recoveries were hard but it only lasted a few months and when you think of the rest of your life what is a few months? nothing....I am not sure if you are religious at all but maybe praying about it would help bring you some comfort?

It is natural to be scared of surgery. Its more natural for husbands to be afraid because they know they can't do 1/2 of what you do for your family.lol Ask him to come to the dr appt at least so the dr can address some of his concerns. Hey MoonPie I can understand your situation ...I was a weekend binger..I would eat as much fast food as I possibly could and let me tell you I could...
I have had the sleeve just over 2 months now and do you know what ..I couldn't binge if I wanted to ..I just had the teeny tiny bit of lasagne and now I'm stuffed for the rest of the night..I am saying no to chips and icecream and lollies ..and my family is still getting used to it lol
It's is the great part of the sleeve...sure there are possible complications and boy did I feel like crap for atleast 3 weeks after but now I feel pretty damn Normal, ..sure I get full really bloody quickly but you know what I'm 19 kilos down ( 41 pounds) and I feel so good
I can't wait to be under that magical 100 kilos

I still get the urge to eat late at night...but I normally just have a bite of cheese, spoonful of almond butter, or if I really need it a square of dark chocolate and then Im all set.

But most of the time...Im not hungry...

Its an amazing tool!!!! It changes your life and your relationship with food!!!!
