I read too much! There are so many opinions and health gurus and different recommendations about when its most beneficial to exercise.
I figured I'd quit reading and ask my fellow sleevers what's worked for you?!?
I think the important part is to just DO it! The earlier in the day assures you that you will get it out of the way and move on, but some people don't feel great in the mornings or have to go to work, so they will opt for later in the day. They say not to work out too close to bedtime as that will kind of 'razz' ya up!
Good luck and great job with the weight loss!!
I work out in the morning. I have a treadmill and a variety of weights. I get up with my kids, feed them, dress them, feed the dogs, have about 4 oz of GNC Amp Chocolate with 20 g of protein, then I do my workout and shower, then I drink the other 4 oz of protein drink and 1/2 of a yogurt cup because that's all I have room for. (So getting 40g of protein just from the 8oz drink). If I don't work out first thing in the morning, it would never happen. I am a stay at home mom with a 2 and 4 yr old and by evening after baths and bedtime and just a day with the kids, cleaning, laundry...I'm too tired to move, let alone work out. lol
I also tend to read too much. I have been told that when you do it in the morning it sort of kicks off your metabolism---OBVIOUSLY that didn't work for me or I wouldn't have to have the surgery!!! LOL --- I do know that when I exercise in the mornings that I feel better just knowing that I don't have to do it later---I am SO ALLERGIC TO IT!!!
my motto is natural exercise.....I make it a point to do things that require extra ....mow the lawn, weed, move rocks into a wall for the garden, Bike for fun, I hate the thought of "true" exercise....feel like I am wasting time......I do need to get over that.....working on it !!
We go near sunset, due to the high tempertures where I live. We will adjust the times when the weather allows and our schedules necessitate. I'm not too concerned whether the time of makes a difference. I didn't walk/execise AT ALL before surgery, so I am light-years ahead of where I was a month ago and that is good enough for me!
I am going to try a walk in the very early morning before it gets too hot and the same walk in the evening as it starts to cool down. If I am able to walk 20 minutes both times that will equal 40 minutes a day.
As long as you're moving, it likely doesn't matter. I've read that exercising on an empty stomach isn't a good thing (on Jillian Michael's website) because it causes your body to conserve energy because its exerting itself and burning energy but not getting anything into it to replace. Who knows what the real answer is!
Straight forward. Straight facts. Whether you like the truth or not... I'm not made of sugar coating
