Finally after a 5 year battle with myself and insurance I succeeded and got sleeved on 3/28/13. I spent two days in the hospital. Pain for me was bad the next day, and after that I have been good. Walking around climbing steps everything in moderation.. not over doing it. I lost of people dont know what it's like to have your weight control your every decision you make. From the time you get out of bed to going to the bathroom, showering, getting dressed and making love. It controls you sort of like an addiction controls you. Then you get the point of enough is enough. I want the monkey off my back. I am looking forward to positive things ahead. Right before the surgery I was very nervous and my 3 year old daughter said to me in the surgery prep area, "DAD Please get your tummy fixed so we can play basketball". From that minute I knew i was not backing out and I was going threw with this. It's amazing when your are a parent that things you will do for your kids, and how much strength that little words had given me..
I went in at 418lbs. I started this journey at 433lbs. So I lost a little bit of weight before surgery. and as of today I am 398lbs.
God Bless you all.
