Default I'm 19 weeks out down 64 lbs since surgery BUT....

I'm not loosing much in my mid section ... I started in a tight 20 jeans and size 2x top...today and I'm wearing a size 14 and a large top ... Still mostly in 16s and Xl shirts but I have to wear the banded flow tips to hide my midsection .... My dr doesn't want me doing plastics surgery until my year mark... So I have 40 to go before I would want to do my tummy tuck.. I guess I have 7 months to get my funds together .... Anyhow happy Easter to everyone

I think your doctor has given you good advice.

Both my surgeon and the plastic surgeon I had a consult with HIGHLY recommended waiting at least a year post-op and maintaining my goal weight for 3 months (minimum) prior to getting a tummy tuck.

Based on their expert opinions getting it done too soon (when you still have weight to lose) will only cause the external abdominal skin to sag (again) because of the additional weight loss post-plastic surgery.

For now I am all about losing the weight. And just to warn you the closer you get to goal weight the longer it takes for the weight to come off...the first 6-months are the "honeymoon" period for sure as far as I am concerned..lol

    Best wishes!

You're doing great! Your body will also continue to adjust over time. Right now I'm finding the stalls are great for a re-adjustment period. Scale doesn't move but the body does. I think when you lose quickly things don't have enough time to redistribute. My mom who lost something like 130 lbs with bypass still finds that her body is adjusting (she's been at goal now for several years).

    Starting weight for lap-band = 252
    miserable 5 years later
Starting weight for VSG = 229
    Pre-op weight = 219
