WoW, that makes me so mad when I hear stories like this that I literally just have to BITE MY Tongue..... FIRE HIM, he works for you, find another that is more sympathetic & realistic... obestity itself is a treatable disease, , “Diets,” which have a starting point and an ending point, will not help, and will actually worsen the disease, because once you end the “diet” you will most likely regain all of the weight you lost, and then some, & if it where that simple, we'd all be skinny & not need these type of surgeries! I'm sorry you where subjected to that moronic logic but take it with a grain of salt & do what is best or you, take charge of your own health plan, it is your body, & your physical, & metal health at stake! It just blows my mind when I hear stories like this considering that obesity is now America’s number one cause of preventable premature loss of life. Find a Bariatric Physician to go to vs a General Practitioner. Hang In There, you've taken the first step by recognizing there is a problem, & reached out to do something about it... And...why would you have to "make another appt" in order for him to clear you? I did not tell my PCP I was having WLS but when I went there postop to have my stitches out, he was thrilled and has been 100% SUPPORTIVE of me. He orders the needed blood work from the book i took him by Dr Alvarez and always tells me how proud of me he is!
Hopefully, you won't have to return to this particular doctor once everything is a GO.
