Hi I live in Vancouver Wa I need to find an after care dr. In either WA State or Portland area after my surgery from Mexico im having a hard time finding one since im having my surgery in Mexico.

I let my primary care phycisian know that I was having my surgery in Mexico and she was willing to follow me after surgery. She has been my doctor for about 5 years and has seen me through several different diet plans. She wasn't thrilled that I was having my surgery in Mexico but she knew it was too costly for me to have my surgery state side since my insurance didn't cover the surgery.
I do have a suggestion for Portland area. Dr Leslie Strickland. She is a family practice MD that I worked with when she was in her residency. She moved to Portland when she was done. Good luck in your search....Hugs Judy

My recommendation is to do "self-care" for your nutritional needs, wound care, etc., from what your doctor in MX provides. Then find a PCP to manage your labs, healing, weight, etc. I told my PCP and he said to let him know which labs he needs to draw and he prescribes my GERD meds and I feel very honored that he's supporting me, but the truth is that any good PCP should be willing to assist a post-WLS patient.
