In terms of affordability, India is actually the second best country to go to when you want an gastric sleeve surgery performed. The Philippines is currently rated the cheapest country for medical tourism involving gastric sleeve surgery.

The thing is, both countries have really good doctors, with a great command of the English language. You could probably book a vacation to these countries before getting your surgery.

Quality-wise, however, you should look at Taiwan, which is at par with the facilities and specialists found in Mexico and actually have better systems than in the U.S. It does come with a higher price tag though, with the typical gastric surgery costing more than what it normally costs in Mexico.

Who are the good doctors for the sleeve etc. in India and where, Pune, Mumbi ( spell ? ) or Bangalore??? Does anyone know? Thanks

I had my surgery done by Dr Mufazzal Lakdawala, It was great! He did SILS procedure on me, I only have one little scar inside my belly button! I was operated in Delhi at Forties Hospital, the service was excellent! I am very pleased with the team!

Hi,

I am thinking of getting my gastric sleeve done in India. I am originally from there and I have family there for support in case of complications and after care. I have found these surgeons that do this at different hospitals that are well known in India. All of them have training in Europe or US. Also, these people do a lot of surgeries just because the Indian population is quite large so they have had plenty of practice and hopefully have already made the mistakes that could be made.

Dr. Lakdawala - CodsIndia.com - Does the surgery at different well established hospitals - from Mumbai but does travel to Delhi once a week to do surgeries at Fortis Gurgaon. - Sharita suggested him and he is an excellent surgeon. Just operated on a Minister. Expensive though.

Dr. Arun Prasad - Apollo Indraprastha Hospital - Delhi (Did not make inquiries yet. His profile impressive)
Dr. Parveen bhatia - Ganga Ram Hospital Delhi ( Might go with him, Gangaram is a little difficult for me to get a response from, however I really like his profile. Also a little less expensive than Dr. Lakdawala)
Dr.Jayashree Todkar - Hiranandani Hospital - Mumbai (Again excellent Sugeon, world class hospital, however I am from Delhi and Mumbai is just not convenient)
Dr. Shashank Shah - Hiranandani Hospital- Mumbai

Money wise I found Mumbai to be more expensive than Delhi. I am still debating about getting it done so cannot help you with experience. However all of the mentioned surgeons and Hospitals are world class. I am hoping to spend under 10k including air tickets from North America...well I can only hope

If you can come to Kolkata for the surgery , that would be best since I can safely recommend the team that did my surgery and you will not be fleeced and will receive the best treatment and advice.

In other locations, I would not have personal experience.
