My doctor suggests reasonable limits to aid in your weight loss of a maximum of 40-50 carbohydrates daily. Typical protein intake between 70-120 grams a day, through protein shakes.

I like a pre-made shake called Premier Protein that is sold at both Costco and Sam's. It has 30 mg of protein per serving and very low in carbs!

there are so many different brands. It really comes down to a matter of tastes. I really like the Premier, that the OP noted. I don't like the powders or the fruit tasting one. Isopure to me is pretty nasty. You might try getting some sample packets (I know that GNC does this) and experiment

My favorite protein powder is Pure Protein. They have powder and protein bars. I also like EAS ready to drink. I really try to get my protein from chicken, cottage cheese, cheese sticks and greek yogurt. I also LOVE Click mocha expresso powder (get it on Amazon). I am really addicted to it! It really tastes like mocha at Starbucks with 15g protein and only 12 carbs and 120 cals. Oh, and Quest bars are a great treat. They are much cheaper if you get them at Amazon too. Just on a side note...Since my journey began at my pre-op appointment on October 3, 2011 at 357lbs, I have lost 153lbs as of this AM. Thank you sleeve!!!!!!!!!!!

Val awesome - way to go!

I like the premade Premier protein shakes, I also like Syntrax cookies and cream. I drink a Fit Frappe every morning which is an espresso based coffee drink with 10 grams of protein, helps me start the day right.

I think really, the best protein drink is one that YOU can tolerate!!!

If you have a Sams near you, I have found Premier Protein to be my favorite and the favorite of many others on the site. It's premade so it is easy to grab and take with you. It also tastes good and has 30 grams of protein.

Premier Protein is also my favorite. I love that it has 30 grams of protein in only 11 ounces, so that means I can get 15 grams in the 5.5 ounces that I can drink at a time. My second favorite is Unjury Chocolate splendor. I also really like their chicken soup for a change of pace, especially on a cold day. I would encourage you not to buy too much of it before you have your surgery, though. I bought 2 cases of GNC Lean Protein drink before surgery and now it is so sweet that it is almost nauseating to me. Your tastes will change a little, especially as to what you can and can't tolerate after surgery.
    Good luck to you!
