    Talking Progress and NSV

I am about 10 weeks post op. I am feeling much better than I did in the first few weeks following surgery. So yes...IT DOES GET BETTER! I don't have as much "Buyer's Remorse" as I did in the beginning. I still miss food. I am still mourning the loss of pasta, potatoes, bread...I know (or I hope) that gets better. I do have some issues after I eat sometimes. I know it is when I eat too fast or don't chew well enough. If I take my time, I don't have near as much pain. I am still struggling with getting all my liquids in. Water tastes so bad now. So my drink of choice is unsweetened, decaffinated tea.

Now on to my NSV. We flew to Orlando 2 weeks ago. I always have anxiety about whether the seat belt will buckle. Not only was I able to buckle, I had a good 6 to 8 inches of extra belt! WHOO! HOO!! I was also able to ride all the rides at Disney and Universal without having anxiety in line about whether or not I would fit in the seats with ease. That was the most amazing feeling in the world. To be able to tell my kids "yes" to every ride they wanted to go on. Awesome!

I still have tons of work to do but I am getting there....one day at a time! I love what I am seeing in the mirror. People that don't know I had surgery are starting to notice my weight loss. I am loving that.

That is great! I am traveling in May, looking forward to fitting comfortably in the seat. I've always been able to fasten the seatbelt but it was after a struggle and then I was uncomfortable the whole time, praying and hoping the person next to me wouldn't need to get up for any reason so I didn't have to go thru that ordeal again.
