I had my sleeve on 1/29 still in the hospital due to not able to tolerate liquids; my question is I am hungry my stomach is growling is this normal
Knowing nothing, I can't imagine if you can't even consume liquids that it would be "normal" that if your even small stomach is completely empty you would feel hunger. But, since truly that's a hypothetical, let's wait for a seasoned "sleever" to respond. I hope you can tolerate liquids soon. Best of luck to you! We are all rooting for you!
It's also very likely increased acid in your stomach, which is common, and mimics hunger. Are you on any kind of acid blocker? That has helped me tremendously with the "hunger" feelings.
Good luck and keep us posted!

I was in for 2 days too... my tummy grumbled and and bubbled with anything that went in (that stopped after a couple weeks). I just stayed determined to sip, sip, sip even if just a teaspoon at a time to slowly and the key word is slowly get nutrition in. A cup of broth would take over a 1/2 hr to consume... probably closer to an hour, but just keep walking and take your cup with you. When I got home I didn't use regular broth, I bought chicken noodle soup, beef barley etc and cooked as directed adding a can of water, then heated it up, and drained off the broth - much more satisfying

Well it's been a week today and I feel so much better, I don't want to lie I regretted the surgery the first two days post op but can now say I am so ad iDisk this already. I was not expecting the pain afterward and the hungry feeling but I took Pain LEDs and started Prevacid and things improved greatly I am drinking 4oz an bout. Walking in yard and just fell good got on the scale this morning and already seeing progress I'm sure a lot is water weight but it still feels good
I am 6 days post op and my new tummy rumbles away wether I am hungry or not. But I can honestly say I have only been truly physically hungry twice since the surgery..I make myself take fluids in and protein shakes. My dr started me on puréed foods on day 4 but I have been sticking with more bland puréed.i still get queasy when eating..it passes quickly though
I'm currently 1 day out (well just under 24 hours) and my stomach hasn't stopped growling this whole time. The idea of food has not entered my mind as I've only managed a very small glass or apple juice (which has taken me the full day to be through) and an occasional sip of water.
It's been 2 weeks today since surgery. I am feeling really good, able to get my protein in and most of my liquids, today I will start pureed/ soft foods. This week I have cooked every night for my family and did not get the feeling like I was missing anything when they ate and I had my cream soup, even went to my fathers 82nd birthday and I had a fat free popsicle and no cake but was satisfied, so I hope I continue to feel this way. Did not loose as much this week but did loose 5 pounds and very happy about that. My question is now when can I start do some exercise? I had started the gym about a month ago doing the elliptical and just a few machines for arms but have not been since surgery and I think I am ready to go back just not sure if its too soon.
