Hi
I was put on Optifast, I think it tastes disgusting, but it has everything you need in it, I did it for 7 days plus had green vegies, it was hard but you need to do it.
Your surgeon / dietician should give you that info
Good luck
Hi!!!
Not sure where you live, but I am a huge fan of the Whey Protein shake that I get at Wal-mart. I get 2 pounds of it for $16. You can find it in the pharmacy department. It comes in a variety of flavors like chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and cream n' cookies. But just as an FYI, the vanilla and cream n' cookies have a strong coconut taste to them.
I also had a friend suggest making a protein shake. She said to fill a blender with frozen strawberries, a cup of orange juice, cut up one banana, and then a scoop of unflavored protein mix. Blend until smooth and you get a tasty smoothie. And when she wants extra protein she says she puts in a tablespoon of peanut butter. Apparently it tastes like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
I actually begged off protein shakes. They were disgusting!!!! My nutritionist put together something for me though. Ask your nutritionist about it!
I guess I was luckier than most of you then. I was on Isopure Chocolate. Couldn't say that it did taste like chocolate, but it was tolerable
I remember that I had a clear liquid diet first and then got some protein milk shakes. I couldn't really hold of it down. I guess it was because of the milk. My surgeon put me on water again, and then have the mixes in water, instead of milk. Then sipped it with straw. That did the trick.
