I'm looking for ppl in the northern cali region...
I am not from Cali but I am from Oregon, not all that far from you. Roseburg, Or area
Hey everyone I'm in ukiah Idk if you know where that us. I am having my surgery at cal pacific in s.f....my Dr is Dr. Greg jossart. I love him and his staff. He invented the laporscopic way of doing the sleeve so I am confident he will do a great job. Although I'm still very nervous. My ankle has been swelling and legs ache I hope this will all go away after surgery. Where are you all having your surgeries?
Hi, my name is Claire and I live in Sonoma county. My surgeon was Dr. Robert Woodbury (Healthy Steps program) and I had sleeve surgery Jan. 25th this year. Dr. Woodbury is wonderful, very calm, very empathetic.
I have lost 55 lbs. so far, now kind of out of the "honeymoon" period and weight loss is slowing down. You get a bit spoiled by the rapid pace of the early weight loss, so all I can say to those contemplating surgery is do what your doc tells you and don't cheat! As Dr. Woodbury says, surgery is not the cure, it is just the last,BEST tool that you will have to give yourself a new life. I am so thrilled to be under 200, even if by only 2 lbs!
Hi, I'm LIsa, I'm in Fair Oaks, a suburb of Sacramento. I'm just starting, but plan on going through Kaiser, Richmond. There are actually quite a few of us from northern CA, plus some from southern as well. When is your surgery date? I'm a little nervous as well about some of the pain, side effects, but I can't wait to get this done! Read a lot about the surgery and these forums, it'll help you decide. When I talked to my primary care physician about it, she told me it's a very safe surgery, that there are risks but they're very rare.
Yay people close to me..I'm up in ukiah. My surgery date is June 30th. I just received the packet from the hospital. It really hit me that I'm going through with this. I went over the side affects and got freaked out for a min. But I know this is necessary. Can't wait to be healthy. It's weird its weird I cane picture myself smaller. It's almost like I will mourn the old me...even though I will be the same person...does this make sense?
Nat, I understand what your saying. I lost 95 lbs pre-op from the day I started this journey till my surgery date this past Tuesday the 28th. ii look in the mirror and I see the same person, But my clothes are smaller. I move easier, I breathe easier, but I still feel like the same person..
I am from Santa Rosa and also had surgery on the 28th. Doing well, can't wait until full liquids, Dr. Woodbury has patient's on clear liquids for two weeks post op and then very slow advance. Any ideas on what is safe to get the bowels moving. Going on five days and don't want to go to long. No problems with acid, but I was put on pepcid 20 mg twice daily, crushed. I also drink while sitting up and walk around for awile if I feel pressure building. Small sips all day long.
Hi, my bowels started moving yesterday. Does your Dr. Have you on protein shakes? Mine does, that is probably what helped me. My acid issue has resolved, I have to eat slowly. I have now incorporated cottage cheese and egg whites into my diet. So far so good. I have discovered crystal lite sous IRS. They are very good. I use the small cup to my magic bullet. 13 ice cubes, 1 cup water, and 1pkt crystal lite. Blend till smooth. VERY yummy.
