    Default A little confused.

I know I am not alone but has anyone else seen a slowdown in weightloss within a month after surgery??? I know my caloric in take is not high and I am still fighting to get the proteins in but I have been going to the gym 3 times a week and walking for about an hour and I'm not seeing much progress. Any ideas???

There are a lot of posts about "stalls" which I am in (as it sounds like you are) at the moment. I had the sugery about 20 days ago. I lost over 20 pounds right after with no pre-op diet. HOWEVER, for a week I have been stuck at the same weight as I struggle to get in enough food to simply function. This site has helped as I have learned it happens to the best of us...if not all of us. I can imagine the shock to our bodies puts them into a "code blue" and fight to keep a hold of our weight. Also, at least in my case, I am actually eating food, mushy as it may be. It isn't "normal" to loose 20 pounds in 15 days as I did and as you similarly did. So I think our bodies are fighting back. I am not looking at a scale until next month. Even then I might not look. Forget it!! My clothes will remind me why I did this...especially the smaller new ones I will need to buy ^_^

Thanks AnnieMarie. Your right and I need to stop looking at the scale too.

I think there is something that happens after a few weeks to cause the stall. I went from dropping a pound or two a day to nothing for 10 days and now losing quite slowly. I'm staying focused on the long term. I've been keeping track of my measurements and I am still getting smaller so something is happening.

Limitedcoco -- your body is adjusting and you are in a very normal phase. This week, skip the scale and get out your tape measure -- you will be surprised with what you find! Everyone gets to a point for a week or more (and yes, it will happen more than once) when your body seems to stop losing weight but you body is making huge changes and catching up to the weight loss. Now it is time for Non Sleeve Victories -- they can be as amazing as the number on the scale. Keep positive and you will continue to succeed!
