Not sleeved yet but I will be experimenting with baby food!!! Will let you all know how it comes out....Found some interesting flavors that sounded yummy. I think I would gag if I pureed chicken myself an date it but I found a chicken veggie baby food...figured I would add some broth, unflavored protein and spices to make a creamy soup. Also found some apple cinnamon oatmeal baby food...mmmmmm...sounds yummy even now. Just thought this may be a quicker route in the beginning and I can add the unflavored protein to any of them and doctor them up!! Will post the yummy experiments and will throw away the yucky ones!!! hehehe! Thanks for the recipe section...I think this is key to not getting bored and wanting to eat not
    so good stuff!

Everdreamer, you'd be surprised - I for one found the pre-made baby food quite gag-worthy, and the homemade chicken puree much less so. You can use the canned (like tuna) chicken and almost puree it with just a fork, or use one of those mini choppers. I added a little mayo and it was like a very mushy chicken salad. One meal I had it with a wee bit of cranberry sauce, another meal with a little hot sauce, etc. to keep me on my toes.

I don't know when the last time you tried baby food was (I have a toddler so I've had it recently) but IMO most of the flavors (except some fruits, which you could add protein powder to) are pretty nasty.

    Sassy water:

    2 liters water
1 cucumber peeled and sliced thin
    1 lemon, sliced thin
    12 mint leaves
    1 tsp grated fresh ginger

Put all together in water pitcher and let steep overnight.

It tastes very refreshing and may even help serve as a diuretic if you are retaining water.

I got to sick of the protein shakes into the 4th week post op that I stopped them pretty much. Now that I can eat turkey and chicken and shrimp I am getting my protein that way. 32 pounds down 6 week post op so yeah! Started slowing a little but now it's pretty much steady at 3 - 4 pounds a week which is fine by me.

I get mine from chicken and turkey but then started eating at least a half of a protein bar at different times throughout the day. Can't eat a whole one in one sitting.

    Delicious chicken stew:
Ok first of all, i have the taste palate of a 10 year old. so this is not too fancy, BUT its SOOOO good, takes less than thirty minutes and is massively easy to make. This would be for people on soft foods or normal foods.

CHICKEN STEW...makes 6 or more four ounce servings...around 250 calories, give or take depending on what you add, subtract etc.

    *THREE BONELESS SKINLESS THIGHS
    *ONE SMALL CAN CHICKEN BROTH
*1 TABLESPOON WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR ...but any kind will work
*ONE SMALL CAN OF WHITE CORN...if you cannot handle corn, substitute with any small chopped veg you like
*ABOUT A CUP OR SO OF BABY CARROTS, CUT INTO PIECES
*SEASONINGS....salt, pepper, creole seasoning or spicy mixes like mrs dash...whatever you like to taste. The more flavorings the better. a dash of this and a dash of that

chop the chicken into pieces the size of pencil erasers or whatever you know you can handle easily. I run mine through a food processor ...pulse several times until its the right popcorn size.

dump the chicken into a non stick fry pan with no oil...the thighs have enough oils in them to brown nicely. add all the spices you like, it will get somewhat diluted so flavor it up as desired. stir it around until it is browned on all sides but not cooked through.

pour the broth in the frying pan, turn low and let the meat simmer covered until its all cooked through and very tender.

put the carrots in a bowl and cover and nuke them for about a minute, if not soft enough, add another minute...then dump them into the chicken and broth mixture.

open the tiny can of white corn and pour that in now too...you could also have used a browned chopped onion if you prefer..or whatever added thing you like.

now take the tablespoon of flour, put it in a cup and add a little water, about half a cup or so...mix it with a fork til its all desolved in the water. turn up the flame under fry pan so every thing is boiling. gradually pour in the flour water mixture while stirring...that will thicken the stew broth and make it creamy. you can also add a little milk (i don't) or a touch of wine (i dont do that either) but its all about adding flavors.

now let it all simmer on a very low flame for a couple min, turn off heat, cover and in a few minutes you will have a thick delicious and VERY satisfying stew ...enjoy!

I found a recipe for protein bites and I have varied them so many ways. They are great!
1/2 cup Roasted Veggies (peppers and red onion mixture)
1/2 cup Cheese, shredded (Colby/Jack blend)
1/4 cup Leftover Steak, chopped fine
    1/4 cup Tomatoes, diced
    5 eggs
    1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
    1/2 teaspoon Oregano
a few twists of Black Pepper

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients together. Spoon into lightly greased (Pam non-stick spray works great for this) mini muffin tins.

I bought a mini cupcake maker, I spray it and pour the egg mixture, cook until done.

I also started adding powdered milk into the egg mixture to add more protein.
